Back in 2020, remote work was seen as a way to comply with social distancing rules, but four years later we're seeing that working from home not only changed the way Californians do their jobs but also with where they live.

Remote work, mixed with the housing crisis, accelerated a Bay Area exodus

Good Afternoon, this is the State of California. Concern is mounting for wine experts as egg masses of an invasive species from Asia were found in a shipment of art traveling from New York to California wine country in March. 

It's called the spotted lantern fly and it could pose a serious threat to the state's wine industry.

An invasive spotted lantern fly is infesting grapevines

July is right around the corner, and while many have the 4th on their minds, there's a series of new laws signed by Governor Gavin Newsom that are set to go into effect come Monday. 

Two of the bills included on that roster are expected to help address public safety concerns regarding gun violence and hate crimes. 

For a closer look, KCBS Radio anchors Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising were joined by Assemblymember Phil Ting, who represents the 19th District, which spans the Westside of San Francisco, Daly City, and parts of the Peninsula.
