New laws go into effect Monday, two of which address guns & hate crimes

July is right around the corner, and while many have the 4th on their minds, there's a series of new laws signed by Governor Gavin Newsom that are set to go into effect come Monday. 

Two of the bills included on that roster are expected to help address public safety concerns regarding gun violence and hate crimes. 

For a closer look, KCBS Radio anchors Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising were joined by Assemblymember Phil Ting, who represents the 19th District, which spans the Westside of San Francisco, Daly City, and parts of the Peninsula.
