An Australian company has developed a new satellite device, to help monitor operations on farm. 

It's hoped Myriota's AssetHawk can be used to track transport, mining and resource operations as well as agricultural assets. 

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with Chief Executive Ben Cade about how the device can be utilised.

McDonalds has revealed it spends more than $1 billion a year with Aussie farmers and supplies - with 90-per-cent of menu ingredients sourced locally.

The potatoes used in hash browns and fries are by far the biggest item on the annual  shopping list.

The Australian Telecommunications Ombudsman has just delivered a report saying many remote people feel like they're going backwards in this department.
