New figures warn farm input costs are expected to rise higher than inflation in 2026. 

The annual consumer price index currently sits at 3.8% but fertiliser costs are expected to rise 6%,  and fodder is up 15%.

ABARES says farmers are also receiving more for their produce.

The Cost Recovery Implementation program has been flagged in this week's Mid-Year Economic Financial Outlook.
