Last year when the popularity of weight loss drugs surged, it lead to a worldwide shortage, that is still going on today. In a bid to assist with those shortages, some compounding pharmacists mass-produced their own versions of popular weight-loss drugs.

Earlier this week the TGA, which regulates medicines in Australia, proposed a change which would effectively ban compounded injectable weight loss drugs from being made or sold in Australia, due to concerns the drugs may be unsafe or ineffective. 

In this episode of The Quicky, we shed a light on the safety and effectiveness of compounded drugs compared to their commercial counterparts.
