The Phillies had high hopes to beat up the Braves this weekend and make a move in the NL East. Instead, it looks like the Phillies will have to settle on the NL Wild Card.
The Phils lost two of their first three in a four-game series against the Braves at Citizens Bank Park, with the series finale on Monday afternoon. But a five-game deficit with 19 games to play is going to be difficult to overcome. Why? Well, if the Braves go just 9-10 the rest of the way, the Phillies would need to go 15-4 to win the division.
What went wrong on Monday? Alex McFarlane served up a three-run homer to Ronald Acuña Jr. We talk about McFarlane, the bullpen, the division and much more.
