View descriptionShare

Today we are joined by Darryl Sydor, a two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lighting.

After an outstanding junior career as part of the Kamloops Blazers and their first ever Memorial Cup Championship. In 1990 he was a first round NHL Draft pick going 7th overall to the Los Angeles Kings

In 1996, he was part of Dallas Star’s “big four” defence core that also included Derian Hatcher, Sergei Zubov and Richard Matvichuk - a major reason for the Dallas Stars’ Stanley Cup winning season in 1999.

In 2010, after playing 1,291 games and 18 seasons, that included a second  Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, he retired from the National Hockey League....  He is now enjoying retirement, having returned to live in Kamloops as part owner of the Blazers
