Overtime Podcast: Season 3 - Ep 12 - Vincent Damphousse

View descriptionShare

Vincent Damphousse played 18 seasons in the NHL after being selected 6th overall in the first round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs - the first French-Canadian ever to be selected by the Leafs in the first round! He was a steady offensive player for the Leafs for 5 years until being traded to the Edmonton Oilers for a single season, then to his hometown Montreal Canadians. With the Habs, his career climbed by leading the Montreal Canadians in scoring when they won their last Stanley Cup in 1993 defeating Wayne Gretzky and LA Kings in 5 games- it was the last time a Canadian NHL has won the Cup! He eventually became the Canadians Captain before finishing his career with the San Jose Sharks. Dampousse played in over 1300 games and scored over 1200 points - certainly Hall of Fame numbers & achievements, but has not received the call yet..!
