Overtime Podcast: Season 2 - Ep 29 - Patrice Bergeron

View descriptionShare

Patrice Bergeron is a rare member of Hockey’s “Triple Gold Club” which means he won a Gold Medal at an Olympic Games, a gold medal at the World Championships and also won the Stanley Cup – only 30 players in the history of the sport of hockey have managed to accomplish this feat! Bergeron played 19 years in the National Hockey League – ALL with the Boston Bruins, and is considered by most as one of the greatest defensive forwards to ever play the game! Patrice won SIX Frank Selke Awards as the NHL’s best Defensive Forward, and had 12 nominations for that award over the course of his career. Both numbers are NHL records! Don’t be fooled however by all the defensive accolades, this guy could also score goals, especially when they mattered, scoring 2 goals, including the game winning goal in Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals against the Vancouver Canucks. Bergeron is a lock to be a first ballot inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame - enjoy the full interview!
