At least EIGHT SuperCoach studs are confirmed out and many more to come. Join Tom Sangster and Wilson Smith for the lowdown.
This is the super Coach NROL official podcast Team list Tuesday with Tom Sangster and Rob Sutherland.
Hello super Coaches.
It's the final live React Teams podcast of the year, and we've probably saved the biggest carnage for last because we currently know that nine popular super Coach players are already ruled out.
There's probably going to be a whole lot more. We don't know what's happening with resting.
The male is that there won't be too much, but in any case, getting a seventeen on the park is going to be very tough this week. Wilson Smith, how's your team shaping up?
Well?
Thankfully, I've still been hit by some of the injuries, but I've managed to avoid some a lot of the bigger ones.
The only real one I'm worried.
About is Turbo and for fear to being out. But obviously there's a bunch more out and fingers crossed, there's just no more players big rested this week. I really needed, like Ellie Kattoa, the likes of them to be on the park.
Yeah, particularly need Ellie katto with David for Feeder confirmed going for early surgery that broke about an hour or so ago. So I'll run through a couple of the names. David for Feeder has gone for early ankle surgery, Toms Boybige with the shoulder which we knew.
But he'll be back for the finals.
No help for super Coach in the final rounds, Sam Walker ACL, Brandon Smith ACL, so those two are definitely out. Ryan Papenhausen we are told, won't play this weekend due to that bone bruising, but the Storm won't be resting any or many other players, so they should be pretty close to full strength at the Storm, which is great news for super Coaches and your man Eliicottole should be playing. Nathan Cleary steal out with that shoulder injury and pardon. Breaking news that we think is going to happen in about what three minutes or so is that the Broncos are going to rest a few players, including Payne Hearts, who is the second most purchased player this week.
Yeah, I mean, with so many players out, obviously everyone's going to have to choose their few Romanning trades if they have any, who to sort of bring in. And obviously paynhass was the second most purchase player before this, so obviously if we'll see what happens when teams are dropped. But if he's been arrested, then obviously Evan's going to have to hit reverse on that and reassess the situation.
Yep, reverse that trade. A lot of people are selling Adam Fanola Blake, or Mitch Barnett this week, given that they're on the buy has I thought was close to the best replacement. But now that he's potentially not playing, who would you be going for. I think Joe Tappaney is just so far ahead in that position right now, is averaging sixteen more points per game than the next best prop that he's playing this week. Yeah, so if you don't own him, get him in.
Yeah, I agree.
I think Tapana is probably the best option. I'm lucky I held Samuel fan now I can know how to say it.
I held him through.
The bike period. Have forgotten how to pronounce his name since.
He Yeah, exactly, So I'm good. I've got Mitch Barnett on the by obviously, But I think Taperay is the guy I would be going to tap the number one replacement.
Tappanay is the top guy. I think Terrell May is a really good purchase. Too, because with all those injuries at the Roosters, he will play big minutes. And when Terrell May plays big minutes, he kills it. His points per minute is one point thirty six, which is just insane. You almost never see that in Super Coach Jwh's out, they've got Butcher out with a concussion. Plus oh there's at least one other in the forward pack as well. Victor Radley's out. So look, he's going to play big minutes this week, and when he plays big minutes, he scores big points onto the best replacements at fullback. So no Turbo, no Papenhausen. I think the most obvious choice is Kaylen Ponger, and I'm really not looking too much further than that because Ponger has so much to play for this week in what is essentially a top eight playoff. In that final game of the round, I'll put the captaincy on him too.
Yeah, I'm the same.
I think I've only got one trade left and i think I'm just going to use it to go from Turbo to klen Ponger, and like you said, I'll be throwing the captaincy on him as well up against the Dolphins to play for that eighth spot. He's going to have to play a big game for the Knights if they're going to win, and I think he.
Just ticks all the boxes for Supercoach.
Yet we know that when Ponger is getting involved that he always scores well for Super Coach. Up against the Dolphins, and I know it's a big game, but the Dolphins defense hasn't been particularly good. It's today game on a Sunday. I think Ponger is the obvious captaincy choice, particularly with all those injuries at the Roosters, which means Teddy probably not a capacy choice, but a good extra number.
Yeah.
I agreed onto the halves replacements, so Sam Walker popular, soel Matt Burton's out with a concussion too, and we're expecting clear he won't be named too. So who are you going for there in the halves? I currently have no halfback and I'm going to play. I'm going to play with no halfback and cop an auto emergency in that position so that I can bring in Ponger. I think pong is that much better than the other replacements in the halfback or five eight positions.
I mean, the half situation is really bleak. There's really you look at the list of who's available and there's really no standouts. I brought in DC a few weeks ago and he's been okay that he hasn't really lived up to his average for the rest of the season. And I've also got Dylan Brown there as well, so I'm covered, thankfully. But that really is no standouts. So I hadn't really considered that. But it's not a bad option just copying the AEI there, especially if you're low on trades.
Code deal is a dollar for the first month, so sign up to that now, spy on everyone. Heading into these final rounds, the teams are in so at the Broncos, we had been told that as many as five players could be out. And yes there's no Catoni Staggs. There's no Selwyn Cobbo is there. There was some chat that he would be out and he is in doubt. I believe no pains, no pain. Hass is Reese Walsh there, He's listed among the reserves. Interesting choice there, I mean, I guess he could become a fullback option.
In place of Turbo.
But it's a tough matchup against a Storm who look like they're pretty close to full strength.
Yeah, at least we'll know early in the round whether he is actually playing or not, since they're on the first game. But you'd think with their season, you know, over like that, there's really not much point bringing him back in.
Unless they I mean storm strength for the Storm.
There's no Papenhausen, as we said before, but that's due to injury, not due to resting. He's out with that bone bruising, so far a Longo becomes a crucial extra number for a lot of players up against the Broncos who were depleted, So you'd play far Longo. Yeah, seventeen for sure if you still own him.
Absolutely.
They've also got.
Got Tony Stags out. Not that many people have him.
Says Xavier Coates is back, but he's not actually on the team list, so I'm not quite sure what's going on there. But essentially close to full strength for the Storm. A really popular guy there is. Jerome Hughes thoughts on him as a replacement in the halves. I feel like he could go pretty well in this game at Suncorp.
It will be drier there.
It's twenty four degrees or something on Thursday. Jerome Hughes up against very understrength Broncos who have nothing to play for, and I mean, let's face it, they've put up the white flag.
Yeah, any if last week was any indication they've pretty much given up. And I mean he is the standout halfback option to bring in this week, but there really isn't many other great choices. But like you said, it's a good matchup I think, and Harry Grant if you bring him in, could be great vice captaincy options as well, up against a depleted Broncos side who, like you've said, have basically given up.
The Tigers they've got obviously back for the buyer. So the Corus Howe is there, which is really important and Lockie Galvin could be crucial in what is essentially the Spoon Bowl, the Wooden Spoon playoff up against the Eels. We could see anything happen in this game, like it could be like forty two to forty or something like that. Zach Campbelltown Sports crowd at six pm on a Friday. We could see anything happen in this clash. But generally good news for the Tigers in that team there on the Eels they got come to a lungey back nothing of massive note, Jake Tungo won't be there with Sean Russell coming back into the team. Super coach wise, it's all about Dylan Brown really, so one hundred and sixty on the weekend, which means that a lot of people are getting on this week as they looked by half backs of five. I could see two sides of this. It is kind of chasing last week's points because I don't think he's going to get one hundred and sixty two again with four try assists and try it equally though, this game could be really high scoring and it's a great matchup for him up against the Tigers.
Yeah, I mean the Tigers, you know, up against Manly in two weeks so they looked really really good, but we know they have been the worst defensive team in the of the year, so Parak could be in for a big score. It could be a really hard scoring game in general, and if you don't want to throw the VC on someone in the Storm Broncos game.
He could be a good advice captaincy option here yep.
But I think if you had to bring in a halfback, I think I would rather bring in Jerome Hughes than Dylan Brown this week.
Yeah, Hughes has slightly ahead from me, but I also own Dylan Brown. Very happy with one hundred and sixty odd on the weekend, but his three game average heading into that was forty. He was absolutely stinking it up before last week. So a word of warning on Dylan Brown at the rabbit O's not a great deal of super coach action here. Jack white And is out with the calf injury, so Cody Walker a five eight Dean Hawkins comes in at half back. I just think avoid rabbit Os players at all costs. I agree, So we'll move on to the roosters. Sand And Smith as we expected, comes in at halfback for Sam Walker. Connor Watson, as we expected, is the hooker for Brandon Smith. Nafar who White comes in in that Butcher out. They got super newer going to the back row with Victor Radley out. Good to see Joseph Swally. He's back on deck in the centers after.
That neck injury.
So look, it was all as expected from early mail. Super coach wise, James Tedesco did captain him this week. There's there's two sides to this. Obviously, they are depleted, so that means less attacking stats for the Roosters. Also, they are depleted, so that means James deedesco will be doing absolutely everything, and he scored a ton on the weekend even with all these players falling like flies around him.
Yeah, I mean it's a pretty bleak situation, but I think the thing to consider is it is a good matchup against the rabbit O's. He's another guy you could potentially throw the vice captaincy on because it is still relatively early into the round. But it also depends how your fullback situation is. Like if you had Turbo and Teddy, he's probably like one of your only options, especially if you have to use your last few trades on other positions.
But I think he is one to consider.
But for me, I'll be throwing the captaincy on klumponger over Teddy.
Yep, captaincy on ponger for me as well. At the Dragons, Jacob Little's back after that late withdrawal on the weekend which threw a lot of super coaches out. They've also got Moses Sully back. Jack Byrd goes to Cetter and then the young utility is slotting in at five eighth, which is an interesting choice there. Super coach wise, it's really all about Zak Lomax up against the Raiders. Look, there's not a great deal to play for in this game. Both teams are a very very outside outside outside chance of making the eight, but realistically it's not gonna happen.
Yeah, I mean, there's really not much going on here.
Zach Lomax obviously a good play every week, is probably the best winger in the NRL at the moment, and in terms of super coach, even in Game three he's not scoring tries, he's still scoring well and it is a good matchup against the Raiders. Otherwise, there's really not much going on here.
A couple of crucial super coach moves at the Raiders. Fogg at his back from that hamstring injury he missed last week. We've also got Ethan Strange back in playing five eight. He could be a really good extra number as super coaches get short on troops. They've also got a kaya Weeks who was a cheapy early in the year, moving to full back, which I think is his best position for super coach. So a couple of decent things there. Super coach wise, I think it's all about Joe Tappanay if you dont him get him in.
Yeah, especially if you need a front rower with you know, the Warriors on buy and paynhas now injured as well, so yeah, I mean Joe Tapanay the obvious best front row replacement this week.
The Doggies thankfully no resting there. They got Stephen Crichton back. Keraz is in the centers given that Bronston Sherry has been suspended for a week and no Matt Burton, so he's replaced by Jerry Hutchinson, which we had in early mail. Super coach wise, I would prefer to see Karaz on the wing, but at least he's taking the field and it's a It's an interesting clash this one because they're both very evenly matched on the ladder.
Bulldogs were the Cows.
Yeah, the winner will lock up fifth spot and get a home guarantee, a home final guaranteed.
So there's a lot on the line here.
Yeah, I wish I had Kiras in my team, but he's someone I just never was able to bring in. But yeah, otherwise, not a lot going on at the Bulldogs.
There is a key in there and that is Josh Curran. Who has been struggling with that shoulder injury, played last week, but good to see that he has been retained again even though he's been carrying an ac joint injury. So lock him into your seventeens at the Cowboys. Just the one change. I've got Thomas mckayley back from a hamstring. Jackson Purdue drops out, so there was some chat that Reese Robson was in a little bit of doubt. He's been named and is expected to play, and of course our homes is the guy to watch.
Yeah, obviously, Bulldogs have been like really one of the best defensive teams of the year. Last week was a rare blip where Manly sort of exposed them. So maybe Cowboys are watching last week's tapes very closely to see how they can expose them. But maybe Bulldogs will, you know, bounce back from last week and put up a really good defensive performance. So you'd think they would be looking to shut Val down. Especially Yeah, I.
Mean Val goes really really well up in Townsville, but it's a pretty tough ask at Akhall Stadium.
At the Pardon at the Panthers.
Hopefully no mass arresting here and all we've got is Scott Sorenson back from a hamstring injury. Looks like they're basically as at full strength as they can be.
But no Nathan Clear in that side.
Obviously no Casey McClain there, so he's on the extended bench so you won't get an extra number there. Otherwise, really good news for Cuvier coaches at the Panthers with every essentially every fit player has been named.
Yeah, and someone who we haven't really talked about who could be an option this week is Dylan Edwards at full back as well up against the Titans. I mean, he looked he's been a bit disappointing since he came back from injury, but we all know how good he can go, and the Titans obviously not one of the best defensive outfits, so he could.
Be an option.
I still prefer Ponger, but he's one to consider as a bit of a pot.
Don't hate Jerome Lui as well, given a lot of people are looking to sell halfbacks in five eighths the Titans. So this game is at Penrith Park and the Titans are depleted, so no David for Feeder. As we told you at the start of the show. They've got Keanu Kinney back into that team, but realistically you'd expect Pendrif to win and win this one.
Well, yep, I agree.
At the Titan so Jaden Campbell five round average of fifty seven. So he's worry me a little bit. But you just got to put him into your seventeen.
It is a tough ask for him against the Panthers this week, who basically needs to win to wrap up second spot on.
The ladder and a home final. I'm pretty sure. So yeah, definitely worrying signs for.
Him at your Sea Eagles.
As we revealed today, Tolu Cooler plays full back, not Lehi Hoppawarti Hopawardi is still on the wing, whereas it goes pretty well obviously no Tom Traboyvich and Clayton fool Lalo is a new face there.
On the wing.
Ruben Garrick killed it last week. I mean, look super coach wise, the issue is that with no Tom travoy Bridge in the team, how many attacking stats will they get against a pretty damn good team.
In the Sharks.
Yeah, I mean, Manly's attack obviously can go ballistic, but the past couple of weeks have really shown that we really need Tom Travoyage on the field to.
Really get our attack going.
So and the Sharks, you know, they're a bit hard to get a read on, but it is a top eight side that they're coming up against, so let's hope my Manley Seagles can surprise them here.
At the sharkis So they've got Raimian back from suspension. But big one for super coaches that Mulatalo. He's back from the knee injury. A lot of people still owe him, so could be a guy to put into your seventeen. It's at four Pints Park, which makes me a little bit worried about Nico Heines. Who he's So the first sort of thirty five minutes on the weekend were very quiet. Came to life a little bit later on in the game. Still a little bit worried about Nico Heines. I avoided him deliberately last week and I'll avoid him deliberately again this week against the Seagulls at four Pints. I don't think it's the best matchup for him, and I feel like it will take him a little bit of time to get back into his groove.
Yeah, definitely, a lot of question marks over him, So if you're less desperate for a halfback, I would much rather bring in Jerome Hughes or Dylan Brown.
Even at the.
Knights, they got Tyson Frizzle back, which is good news for them. Kye Piers Paul named in the reserves as he looks to come back from that big cat that he had to his leg. I've currently got him in my seventeen. Given that they're playing so late in the round, this is not great for kay Peace Paul owners.
Yeah, that's alarming.
I mean, the male we have is that we sort of expect him to be cleared to return. But even then with Tyson Frazzell back as well, you know, there's a bit of competition and for minutes in.
The back row, so it's a bit bleak.
But obviously, with you know, so many injuries, if you're you've got to be keeping eye on late mail and if he's available and you have him, I get I think you start him.
So the Dolphins they got brownch and Cody Walker. Cody so Cody Nikoima rather back into that team after they're both concussion protocols last week. I believe they've also got a Katoa backing. No, they've stuck with that same halves combination as last week, with Availlo at five eight, Sean O'Sullivan in the half at half back, and Trey Fuller at fullback with at Center's none of this is good super coach wise, but it certainly did the job for the Dolphins last week.
Yeah.
I mean it worked against the Broncos and worked well, so why would wait Wayne Bennett change it? I mean, in terms of supercoach, there's you know, there's not a lot going off. Max Plath is still a starting option if you have him. I'm a big I don't really like Hamiso Tabio Fidal playing at center as much as fullback, so it's a bit of a blow for the owners who have him. But I do think it's a good matchup in general against the Knights, and I have a feeling this is just going to be a really high scoring game. They're both playing for a spot in the finals basically, so it could be a big scoring game.
A couple of questions coming through, Send them through on Facebook or YouTube. Dean is saying Trindle carraz Or Osako for the last reserve. Look, that's a pretty good spot to be in to be honest, Ohsako kicking goals, Yeah, I'd probably go with him.
I think do you say Kiraz is one Karaz is one too? I mean Kiras for sort of.
A safety net, but I think Asako is the upside play there, so last reserve might be going for him.
A lot of people saying why are we even watching? We've got no trades, should have held on to some. Is there a prize for this year for the top one thousand? No, just cash prizes for the top ten, including a fifty k going on the line this week first spot. And that is it for our game Day podcast. Sorry, our team's.
Podcast. Get him to the end of the season, that's for sure.
Basically everything that we said in early mail has come true, so no massive shocks in there. Kype Is Paul is probably the biggest blow for me the reserves, but he's probably not that popular. Big thanks to Wilson Smith. Will catch you for the Game Day podcast on Thursday.
See you then.
