The Labour Court has declared the Rea Vaya bus strike unlawful and unprotected. Business rescue practitioner Mahier Tayob has welcomed the court’s decision, arguing that the workers’ demands are unreasonable. Tayob took over the reins last month after the company was placed under business rescue. He joins us now to advise on the way forward post today’s court ruling.

SARS announce collection tall for 2025 financial year

Members of the South African National Defence Force have begun deploying across parts of the Western Cape from today, as part of a wider national effort to combat crime. More than 2,200 soldiers have been deployed to patrol crime-ridden areas in the Western Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State and North West. The deployment forms part of Operation Prosper and is set to continue until March 2027
