President Cyril Ramaphosa has highlighted the important role municipalities play in efforts to transform the country’s energy sector. The president was speaking at the Just Energy Transition Municipal Conference in Midrand earlier today. One hundred and sixty-five municipalities are electricity service providers operating approximately half of South Africa’s distribution grid.
