We hear from the MK Party on why they want South Africa to cease its participation in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. They are of the view that the group has done nothing to deconstruct colonial legacies, instead it exists to aid the British Crown’s global influence. Currently South Africa is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, having rejoined in 1994 after initially withdrawing in 1961 due to international pressure and criticism of the country’s then apartheid policies.
