The ANC in Gauteng has welcomed the renaming of William Nicol Drive to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, saying she deserves to be honoured. Next week Tuesday, Mayor of Johannesburg Kabelo Gwamanda will lead the official renaming ceremony which will also coincide with mama Winnie’s 87th birthday.

SARS announce collection tall for 2025 financial year

Members of the South African National Defence Force have begun deploying across parts of the Western Cape from today, as part of a wider national effort to combat crime. More than 2,200 soldiers have been deployed to patrol crime-ridden areas in the Western Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State and North West. The deployment forms part of Operation Prosper and is set to continue until March 2027
