In Gqeberha, complaints have been made about a shop owner refusing entry to LGBTQIA+ people

The South African Human Rights Commission is probing complaints about a shop owner in Gqeberha who is refusing entry to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Dawood Lagardien, the owner of La Gardi Plastics and Baking Requirements erected a sign outside the shop. The sign says "LGBTQ not welcome at La Gardi. Save our children!!! Right of admission reserved!!! Members of the community sent complaints to the commission, asking for an investigation.
