Stephen Grootes speaks to Fatima Vawda, Founder and CEO at 27four Investment Managers, about the growing concentration of South Africa's R8.4 trillion investment management industry. A new report by 27four Investment Managers reveals that just 20 firms control nearly 87% of assets under management, leaving 82 smaller managers competing for the remaining 13%.

In other interviews, Dr Nico Marais, Chairman of Carmel Wealth talks about whether buying art is a worthwhile investment or simply an expensive passion. While fine art is often promoted as a store of wealth and an alternative to traditional investments, high transaction costs, unpredictable resale values and limited liquidity can make financial returns difficult to achieve. With research showing that nearly half of artworks resold at major auctions made a loss, should investors be buying art to build wealth, or is its greatest return the pleasure of owning it?
