New data from Discovery shows that fuel purchases dropped 33% following October's price increase, while the number of trips fell by just 6%. Motorists are buying smaller amounts of fuel more frequently, with average monthly fuel spending climbing from R1,750 to as much as R2,700 since the start of 2025.
