The Irish comedian has shows in both Auckland and Wellington this weekend as part of his ‘So... Where were we?’ tour.

Ó Briain told Mike Hosking the key to live comedy is making every show different from the last.

He says comedy shows need to draw from the audience, rather than just follow a set script.

The Warriors are hoping to put last weekend's loss to the Dolphins behind them as they gear up for their next clash against the Knights at Eden Park.

Despite being defeated 26-16 in their last qualifying final, the team's still hopeful ahead of Sunday's knockout clash.

CEO Cameron George says the team's back into training, and they're taking the 'scenic route' forward.

"We'll enjoy the geographical way forward, which is Newcastle, and then we'll go to Penrith...that's the plan, the boys know the game we're in."

This morning’s rush hour is providing the first real test of Auckland’s new City Rail Link.

Thousands of commuters are expected to take the transformed network to work and school for the first time.

Auckland Transport group manager of rail services, Mark Lambert, says they're expecting things to be busy today.

"We're operating a lot more capacity than we did, for example, last week - we're really confident that the service will be operating really well today."
