It is still Heritage Month, that means we are still learning new things on our
Monday feature, The How-To-Series, that have to do with the celebration of
our Heritage as South Africans. Today, we are taking a visual approach, as we
look at Our History As Our Heritage, through the lens and photographic work
of the iconic photographer and photojournalist, Alf Khumalo; a man who
captured and immortalised our South African history. We are learning how
to start an art collection, particularly focusing on photography; what should
we look out for, what are the questions we should ask when making a
purchase, and what makes a good photograph? For today’s series, we will be
