Tinyiko Kagiso Mabunda popularly known as Chef
Tkaay was born in Tembisa and matriculated at
Norkem Park High School.

His love for cooking started at a young age when he
saw his mother and grandmother cooking. 

Chef TKaay used to prepare pizzas, burgers and
sandwiches for his mother and sisters lunchbox. 

He then entered baking competitions at school and
won most of them.

After completing his grade 12, Chef TKaay took a gap
year, where he was working at a family business but
he knew that he wanted to be in the Culinary space.

He was an intern in different companies including
restaurants, hotels and private hospitals until he was
accepted at Capital Hotel School in Pretoria where he
recently graduated in Cullinary Services.

Chef TeKaay and his dad just opened a restaurant in
Kwamhlanga Mpumalanga called Ditiou Pub and Grill
where they sell Township Food and African Cuisine.

Chef TeKaay is also a private Chef and does events,
Catering Services, and mentors up-and-coming-chefs under his company Tiny Tables Chef.
