That was the voice of the iconic Tim Modise. One of the voices that launched this station in 1986, and contributed the building blocks to brand Metro FM as we all know it today. Today, on the Midday Link Up, we continue the celebrations of the 40 years of Metro FM, we are paying tribute to the incredible Tim Modise.

It is still Heritage Month, that means we are still learning new things on our
Monday feature, The How-To-Series, that have to do with the celebration of
our Heritage as South Africans. Today, we are taking a visual approach, as we
look at Our History As Our Heritage, through the lens and photographic work
of the iconic photographer and photojournalist, Alf Khumalo; a man who
captured and immortalised our South African history. We are learning how
to start an art collection, particularly focusing on photography; what should
we look out for, what are the questions we should ask when making a
purchase, and what makes a good photograph? For today’s series, we will be
joined by artist, curator, and co-founder of MBR Project; Siwa Mgbooza, and
Nonhlanhla Khumalo co-founder of the Photography Legacy Project. They
will chat to us
