It's only been around five years since college athletes could sign endorsement deals and get paid to play. The Union Athletic Department recently announced a new program to help their student-athletes navigate NIL deals in college. "Name, Image, and Likeness" has taken over college athletics, and most athletes and families don't know how to utilize it. Union Athletics has introduced S.O.A.R. NIL, which stands for "Safety-Opportunity-Awareness-Responsibility." This is a comprehensive NIL education program created to help student-athletes and families understand the opportunities, responsibilities, and potential risks associated with NIL. This teaches athletes how to pursue NIL deals and make smart decisions when opportunities come their way. The program also teaches athletes their worth and how to protect their futures.
