I got my feet kicked up. Let's go.
Yeah, we are ready. Big night. We're gonna preview the Final four. Tell you who'll be cutting down the nets on Monday. Huge night for the women's Final four as well. The Game of the Year happening right now with UCLA and U culling and Gino Orima getting interviewed in between quarters. Actually, I think he's talking so much they're pausing resuming the game. He you know, there is nobody who likes a mid game interview more than Geno Orima. Every other coach is like, ask me two questions, and I'm getting back to the guy. I really don't care. Gino's like, yeah, hey, listen you my favorite pasta dishes is a nice little Rigatoni rosa. You know, I'll like, I'll defer to like Pino for one. My favorite color is blue, of course. Obviously my favorite players of all time. Wow, well you got to start with Rebecca Lobo. She made it all possible, Gino, I just asked you how you need to break the press to to uh to make things happen the second quarter? Oh oh sorry about that? Oh, I mean it is the fielding.
So it's an extended time out. He's up ten, they ford six turnovers. Page Becker's in a big shot to end the I mean there's a there's a lot to love. So smiling Geno, let's.
Go, I got it. He's like, he's like, uh, Deon Sanders, Oh I got time for this today. Let's let's talk about it like, oh, you never have any no one ever has any time you have time for how you have time for silliness? Okay?
Yeah, I mean this isn't exciting Jason Smith one five eight nine seven or whatever it was.
I mean, oh no, no, he doesn't hate me like jj redd Yeah no no, no, no, no no, no, he'll never hate me like jj Reddick. No no, no, jj Reddick has a special place of hatred.
Well, but that's the thing. People always say, Hey, find someone who loves you.
Like x y Z.
I say, we also need the residual, find someone that it's there, consumes them, that you're in their thoughts constantly Mike for Jason.
It's a long line.
It is. There's a long line of people. It's like that returns or what. No, No, remember that part in the airplane when they were trying to get the women to stop being hysterical. They're all waiting in line boxing gloves, lead pipe, but none was waiting there. That's good, that's but yes, it is early in the second quarter, Ukon with a ten point lead over UCLA. The winner, of course, will take on South Carolina for the national championship. And congrats to Dawn Stanley, who I think this is what the the eighteenth year in a row, South Carolina is in the final four and the championship game. I mean, only unreal run. I'm happy with the seating yet I think she might be okay with it. I think I think now it might be okay with no.
Nobody was happy with the Super Regionals No, no, that which which really I actually agree with.
Them on that one.
Why cut yourself and have give more people opportunity to get the games, Shorter travel time, all that kind of stuff, because usually first SIEG you get to stay close to home.
This year not so much.
Yeah, I mean, you know, look, they're trying things a little differently and sometimes Hey, some ideas are going to be great, some ideas not so great about how it goes. Yeah, So again, we'll have more on this game coming up. Again. It's a ten point lead for yukon nine minutes to go in the second quarter. Meanwhile, we saw absolute history tonight and we are on the cusp of seeing something we haven't seen in the last thirty years. Alex Ovechkin ties Wayne Gretzky for most goals all time. He had eight ninety three early in the first period against the Blackhawks, and I know Mike Carbon was nervous. Oh my goodness, he's gonna get all three to night against the Blackhawks. He didn't get all three. If he did, fine, but he ties the record with this goal in the five to three win over Chicago. Long shot kicked away by Flarerity lyndon pressure Kretzky in CRT say by Party read up the Star.
It's taking a long time, but Quaine Retty is finally in the all time professional gold far there's a fourth checking.
Good play by John McClain.
John McClain, John, how about that?
Yeah, well you can he's the guy in bare feet and a tank top. But everybody stays away him because he has a machine gun. So's he's very easy that he'll do whatever he needs to do.
Oh see, now you got the machine guns on the court. I did it yesterday and that was the bad guy.
Well, you were the guy that said that was going to happen, So I mean that was you know, I mean that does a little bit different.
Yeah, Jason's defense, John McClain has to have one.
Yeah that's je John Plain. But here is number eight ninety four because we'll get to that goal in the second for Wayne Gretzky. But here's eight ninety four for Alex Ovechkin. Tye with the great one long shot kicked away by Flarity, Lindon.
Kretzky in front, say.
By Flarity, the readA it's taking a long time and clean, gritty, it's finally in the all time leading professional gold star.
This all night, Jason Bone, Yeah.
We can't. You know, I actually have an unbelievable story about Gretzky's goal, right, and it kind of gets into why maybe the the Ovechkin record isn't as it's It's while it's a big story, it's not as big of a emotion grabbing thing like Gretzky passing Gordy How was so? Because here's the thing is that he ties him Tonight game was on NHL Network. Sunday's game against the Islanders is going to be on TNT, True TV, TBS. Yeah, I mean it's on it like twelve o'clock, Like it's bright and hey, let's go. Now, Honestly, does the NHL want him to break the record at twelve o'clock on a Sunday or would you rather break it on a Tuesday night at home against the Hurricanes? Gee, I know what the Capitals would like. That would be awesome, But like you know, now we know, Hey, the record's gonna be broken. We know when it's gonna I can watch it whenever I want to, and the game's gonna be on national TV and I can see it, right because you know, look the other night, I said, I'm just I just kind of am luke warm over the excitement of him breaking the record. Like it's not because I feel he's not as good a player, he's not worthy and it's neither of those things, Like, hey, he's the best goal scorer in the history of the game, right, He's been a better goal scorer in the last decade than Gretzky was the last ten years of his career. Look it up. You know, he's terrific player. He's got everything you want. He's got all the the he's got the championship, he's got the Heart trophies, he's got the the All NHL teams. Like, he's got everything you want. Like this guy. You know, he's one of the greatest we've ever seen to play. But it's just not the same. And I think that, you know, and it should be, because we haven't seen something like this in thirty years, because Gretzky broke the record back in the mid nineties, and I remember I remember the night specifically because again this gets into wire. We can see the game anytime you want to. When Gretzky was going to break the record, this is when I was working at the ESPN on Sports Center and I was a paon Sports Center at night. And you've probably seen the name Mike McQuaid bandied around over the ports of the past few months, because now he's the guy that runs ESPN. Right he was named these day to day operations of all the programming studio program It was a big deal when you know people left and everything else reorganization. You've seen his name in there, and I was one of mccuaid's guys, right, I've talked talked about him before, Like now, if I was still, if I was still at ESPN, like mccuaid would be running ESPN, and like me and two other people, we would be like the people with him on his team. It would be like House, right, Like it would be he'd be House, and I would be like, like, well, I'd be I'd be you know, the great looking one, So i'd be I'd be him. Uh oh no, I don't know what would I be? Would I be Omar Reps? I don't know.
I was gonna say, how are you filling out that sentence?
Yeah?
No generation of house? Are we at?
Is he playing jazz piano over in the corner while you ponder things out?
I mean there's there's that.
Go Uh no, no, I would man, yeah, no, no, No, I'd be no. No, I'd be chased, that's it. I'm gonna be chased because I'm the good and I can do an Australian accent, So I'm chased. So like we would, that would be the thing like we that's how how ESPN would be run right now from page for like the three of us, because that's who he trusted, like he if you, if he trusted you, you were in. And a lot of breaks I had in my career, a couple of breaks had were because of him. And now he's running ESPN and the legend of him was made because it was his decision that allowed everybody to see Gretzky break the record live on ESPN because they'd struck a deal. ESPN struck a deal with the NHL and the Kings because it wasn't a national TV game and it was while Sports Center was on, and it was, hey, if he every time he comes on the ice, we want to go to his shift and we're gonna show it live. And then when he leaves the ice, you know, we we we we get off and we go back. Hey, Gretzky's back on the ice. You know, it's ninety seconds basically unless there's a you know, a stop for a face off or something. So we did it a couple of times and it was like wow, it was so unbelievably exciting, Like Gretzky's on the ice, Gretzky's on the ice. Gretzky the ice. So we're doing it and Gretzky's on this probably the third or fourth time we've done it in Sports Center, and Gretzky's on the ice and he's getting ready to go off, and the director and the and the eat and the executive producers say okay, no, no, no, let's let's uh, let's get back to Sports Center, and all of a sudden, he goes, no, keep it. He's staying on and Gretzky was skating off. But they saw that they were catching the Canucks and a line change, and they waved Gretzky to stay on the ice because they thought they could break in, and that's exactly what happened. And the Gary Thorne Gretzki because he could see the pass coming, he did it. He did it, and everybody got to see it live on National TV. Only because mccuaid was a hockey fan and he knew no. They sent him back on. Stay, Stay, stay, and they were within one second of hitting the button and going back to whoever was doing the show, like Steve Levy and Olberman, whoever it was. They're within like one second of saying let's go back. He said, no, no, stay, He's staying out, and they stayed. He scored the goal, he danced, they stayed for the for the celebration, and it was an incredible moment. And you know, maybe because I have that in my head about it is why I can't relate to the Ovechkin part of it as much. I mean, there's gotta be some reasons why I keep thinking about this, but like something like that, seeing having that kind of memory of Gretzky scoring that goal is gonna you know, Okay, everybody's gonna get to see Ovechkin. It's gonna be over the course of the game. We're gonna turn it on television, They're gonna go to Charles Barkley, who's gonna talk about Ovechkin. I mean, all the we're gonna get to see it that way. And I think that in the end, I'm gonna say, boy, it was just a different era back then, when it was not every game was You would think a game like that, that's gonna be plastered everywhere, right everybody, But there was no NHL network, right, We barely had ESPN two back then for things like this, So it was a Really it was a much different world. And I think the the excitement of that and seeing that happen and seeing it happen live and working on the show, I think that's what it is with me with it more than anything else, because I'm going, look, I'm gonna watch the game Sunday. He's probably gonna score because he can smell it. The only way he doesn't scores if he backs off because I want to score at home on Tuesday against the against the Hurricanes, which great, that's gonna happen, but I mean, and it's gonna be a moment everybody's to understand. Yeah, oh yeah, but if he scores that, I don't care. Eight ninety six, eight ninety seven, I don't care. Uh. But like, I think that's kind of what I've been coming around to, going, yeah, I can't compare it to the excitement of seeing it happen. And that makes me feel like I'm getting old because I'm like, ah, you know, I've got oh yeah, when I was younger, this is how you found out how plays that and not unbelievable plays happened here when I was younger. So I mean, boy, am I just getting this is like an old person's thing, Like I'm over fifties. This is my old memory of what it is. So I got to think that that's kind of where this whole thing with Ovechkin comes from. Is where Yeah, he's gonna break it and it's gonna be a big story and a whole thing. But my emotion for it is not nearly what it was or what I think it would be.
Yeah, I think when you get down to it, the immediacy and the ability to have our microwave society. I want it now, and you can have it right for a little extra fee. Here's your all in package for audio, video, et cetera. Like my best example with it goes back when we were doing our tour in ninety eight. We went to a bunch of ballparks and it was during the home run chase. Well back then you didn't really know, like until they mentioned it on people that had their transistor radios listening to the local broadcast.
Like, oh, they just said, Maguire hit a home run.
And it starts to get this buzz and murmur in the crowd that suddenly starts as well, and people giving a standing ovation at a game fifteen hundred miles away.
I was like, why is everybody standing? Oh McGuire hit his home run, he's not here. It doesn't matter. It's still exciting. But it's that same thing.
We didn't have the ability to just say, oh, you know what, I've got my cell phone, I've got the MLB TV package, let me pull up the back.
No, there was you know, maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I'll find out when I find out.
But for you to have that kind of power in that moment that they were able to say stay with it, Yeah, there's some extra juice to it.
So one away from owning the all time goal record in NHL, I.
Honestly didn't even remember he was a Ranger.
That was at the very end, right, that was when I think he scored nine goals. Instead, If I.
Can't get out away his last goal was at the very end.
Yeah, if I can't get to ten in a season, I'm quitting. I'm done. I'm really done.
In Mike Schmid thing, I'm out.
I'm done. Like I made three errors this weekend, I'm absolutely finished. I'm absolutely done. So calm the chaos with the shipping software that delivers Use Code Sports for a free trial at shipstation dot com. That shipstation dot com code is sports, so we'll continue to talk about this. Hey, Gretzky was actually at the game tonight. He had some fun stuff to say as he's gonna be at the game again Sunday to follow Alex Ovechkin until he breaks his record. But coming up next, we had a big day in football. Are the guys that had their pro day today really gonna go one to two in the draft? That's next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio. Well, before we get into the big story out of the NFL today, we talked about Alex Ovetchi look the biggest story of the night. He is tied Wayne Gretzky for most goals in NHL history. And the Capitals play at the Islanders on Sunday and bet MGM has just put up the ticket prices at USB Arena for Sunday's Capital's Islanders game. And I mean it's insane because the cheapest ticket that I could find here that actually you sit in, that that's that you can actually sit in is eleven hundred dollars even and there's only like one left on all of these, Like, I don't know if this is just hey, here's a little bit of initial you want to get to the game. This is what's gonna cost you. But like eleven hundred bucks to go see that? And this is great for hockey, right, this is an awesome thing. Eleven hundred yeah, and its probably yeah, it's probably gonna up. There's some tickets as much as five thousand. That's like Super Bowl tickets, right, Like you got to think some is gonna be out there. But I would have said, for certain, hey, what are tickets gonna be, Like I would say, oh, five seven hundred bucks? No, no, no, no, no. Everything is well over one thousand dollars for seats.
Jason, you also have to take into consideration that they are the best team in hockey as well.
Uh yeah, yeah, you did? Is it is? You do? You do? They are? It is?
And the role he's been on the likelihood of this and being able to say that you saw this historic thing plus the outside Sean, I got to think there's the the markup of the possibility of the Putin siding and you get to see a horse on the ice.
Yeah, well here's the thing now, Like if Putin's coming, like this is what he's got to come for, right, He's got to come for Sunday, and then be prepared to stay till Tuesday if he if he has to for uh you know, if they if he doesn't score against the Islanders, because you know we'll stork score against the Hurricanes. So yeah, you gotta be ready. It's a three day, three day Putin. It's gonna it could be a three day Putin thing.
Can't say I know the trap habits of a Putin, So I don't know. If he's coming by horse, it's gonna be whle Yeah. Well no, no, but I think he's gone some barge.
There's no tariffs against Russia, right, so I mean he can just come right in, like I don't think there's Russia tariffs, right.
And dragons Lensky behind him like brave heart.
Wow, I don't know. Wow, they're all gonna they're all gonna have another big meeting. They talk about what's happening. They're gonna meet about stuff. In a press box at USB Arena on sundaytor Oh my good. He had some great stuff to say tonight. You know, Gretzky's at the game and he didn't know. You know, he talked to Alex and he says, look, I want to be there when when it happens for you, And he said, don't come until I get to be two away. So he said, okay, I'll come on your two away now. You know, obviously was three away from breaking it going in tonight, so two away from the record. So Gretzky shows up and after he scored the first period, like in the first eight minutes, Gretzky said, I turned to the person next to me and said, oh, I might be able to leave by the end of the first period. Wow, you can see, oh. Vechkin scores the goal, and like he looks up to Gretzky, Gretzky just waves because of the thumbs up and jim, I'm leaving. Hey, I'll see you dude.
All right, here you go.
You can get you about six rows behind the penalty box for thirty four hundred dollars a ticket.
Whoo man, man, break cash.
How do you feel? You know, here's the thing about going to see a game that historic is that you are really rolling the dice. It's not like, hey, I'm going to the Super Bowl. I'm going to Game seven of the World Series or Game one of the World Series. It's if he doesn't score, crap, man, I just spent a lot of money.
You're double down.
Yeah, well, no, you shout.
Out to see him play. I mean, look, you had an opportunity, all right, if.
You've had a chance to see him play for twenty years. So okay, I mean, but this is you've had a chance to see him play for twenty years, and tickets are probably seventy five.
But but you're never gonna be on the edge of your seat for three periods plus maybe some bonus hockey like you would on that day, like you have emotions that entire day.
You might be spent for the week after.
Okay, doesn't happen, Okay, hang on. Instead of the memory of a lifetime, what's gonna happen is that night's gonna end, and then Ovechkin's gonna score the goal in the next game or the game after, and any time his name comes up, or hockey comes up and records and goal scoring, you're gonna think, yeah, spend all that money to go spend my kids college money for the game before, didn't score against the Island, they lost six nothing, you know, and you're gonna be upset the rest of your life. You'll be upset everything. You'll hear Alex Ovechkin's name and not even be able to smile. You can't, you can't do it. It's impossible.
Yeah, but I mean, this would be a good road trip for you, though.
You get to go to Belmont Park, get to have a little vacation and holiday.
All right, get to go see the Mets play, go see the Metsicans home run.
How would you feel if the highlight was the Mets because you didn't score.
I think I'd be more pissed.
You got you have a great time in New York. You go there, but yeah, you want to see the goal. You're spending five thousand dollars to see a goal being scored that I can't guarantee.
But you're you're you're going for the opportunity. It's like laying down a bet on a game. Oh wait, it's not to guarantee you that it's coming in. No, no, hey a lot of ticket or.
No, no, mister in cases coportunity, you're mister inconsistent, because I'm gonna say what about you when you say, oh, hey, when you buy tickets to a basketball game? If a star doesn't play, a star doesn't play, nothing you can do about it. Exactly what you spent a lot of money. You expecting to see Lebron James. You cheer, You're going to go. You don't get to see it, no, but but you're going to see a guy score. You're going to see a specific.
Thing here, going with the hope that he scores you.
If he's a healthy scratch, it doesn't play altogether. Maybe you're a little salty, but to.
NBA games to see Luca and and Steph Curry and Lebron.
And you're spending a lot of money for them.
But but that's okay. Yes, you're okay with spending going to a game and having them not play. But you're but you're okay with that, but you're upset. But but the whole thing, if you go and don't see a goal, that's okay.
Well, but you get the experience both ways, But what did you got the experience of experience of wasting money because I didn't see what I wanted to waste money.
The game still has some value, right, It's like all the folks.
That complained, Oh no, I went to see a play and the guy that was supposed to be off the mark he didn't go.
Did you still see the play? Yes, you did.
This is game seventy five of eighty two regular season. It's the Capitals have clinched a playoff Berth. They're going to be the number one seed in the East and the Islanders aren't going to make the playoffs.
Jason.
Yeah.
But the beauty of it here is since he has tied for the all time goal record, his ass ain't sitting down.
I'm actually really excited if he doesn't score on Sunday because the next game is at home against the Hurricanes.
What have I been saying all on the last ten nights?
I want you and your team were his gal?
Oh yeah, yeah, you be able to watch Carolina yet post her eyes for the rest of its turn. Yes, yeah, and we're forever.
My squad gives up too to get him to the time you push him over the finish line, you.
Know, And I wonder too, like you think about this, not that Ovechkin's not going to go out there to break the record, but just think about this for a second. Go back to a year ago when Caitlin Clark was going to break the all time scoring record and it was scheduled to be all she had to do was to have a real kind of regular game. I think it was against Nebraska, right, it was against Nebraska. It was like that, and and everybody tuned in and she had a horrible game and she barely shot the ball, especially in the in the fourth quarter. And you could tell this is Iowa saying, we don't want her to break the record here, we want to do it at home. What you did very early in the game the next night did at home at Iowa so they can have all kind of pageantry, like did you Basically Iowa just said, yeah, we're putting it away with this game doesn't matter as much to us as it is Caitlin breaking the record at home. And I think they lost, right, And I think they lost the game. And it was like, how does Nebraska beat thin? Because Nebraska wasn't that great. They're like a sixteen to ten team. So how much do you think going on Sunday with everything clinched, they're gonna be first place over all in the conference. The Islanders aren't making the playoffs. Is this gonna be Ovechkin really going nuts for that goal or is it gonna be hey, I can kind of we can kind of put it away as ice time is not what it's gonna be. And then Tuesday night against Carolina when we're at home, that's when things are really that's when things are gonna pop. Then we're gonna have a show for you, and then we're getting that goal. I mean, just to be honest about it. If you're talking about a lot of money for this game on Sunday, you know you're talking about it's a lot. It's a lot.
It's a lot of travel, beverage, and food plus a minimum. You can buy a single ticket in section two twelve for twelve hundred and thirty five hours.
Yeah, it's a lot, man.
How much is yeah?
Or would you rather just sit and have a nice frosty beverage, get a little bit of take out and sit on your couch.
Well, listen, you can always get a frosty beverage.
That's not that look, but it's going to be less at home, right you might. You're gonna get the twelve pack for the cost of maybe one beer and some of these.
If you want to smear off ice light, you go to Jason's ice light.
I've have had smearing off ice. I've not had spearinoff ice all.
You're lying.
I might have had spir off because I usually don't drink full I usually drink l like. No, I probably haven't.
I never drink a full one.
Yeah, I just read I just read the ingredients and just.
Put it down and let somebody else at the bar drink it for you.
Pass out. Call back time now to find out what's trending in the wide world of sports. A guy who enjoys a frosty beverage on his couch, and in the updates studio it's Steve de Seger with what's trending.
Yeah, it's the little frosty from Weden's twenty Love those nice women's final four going on in Tampa and my goodness, is Yukon going to advance?
Steve, Steve, you gotta call somebody to stop this, can stop this game. It's out of control.
If it was a fight, it would have been stopped by now Connecticut Huskies forty two twenty two over one seed UCLA.
Good step.
That would be a no UCLA with fourteen turnovers in the first twenty minutes of this game, so it's looking like yukon South Carolina in the championship Sunday, South Carolina eliminated Texas seventy four fifty seven.
That game was tied late in the first half. By the way men's Final.
Four starts Saturday, Duke's Cooper Flag was voted AP Player of the Year, Texas A and M's new basketball coach due to be Bucky McMillan from.
Samford to the NBA.
John Morant of Memphis was fined seventy five thousand dollars for inappropriate gestures. New York's Jalen Brunson is listed as questionable for Saturday out a month by now with the bad akle reportedly into the Basketball Hall of Fame tomorrow. Dwight Howard to the NBA Indiana citt us, are you going.
To say report Jalen Bruntsey coming back and reportedly into the Basketball Hall of Fame time as.
Well, that's no. That's clearly no. There is no such report. Not even Sham's mother in law is reporting that, and I don't believe she exists. Indiana sent Utah to an eighth straight loss, one forty to one twelve. Oklahoma City had won eleven straight, but they lost at Houston tonight, Rockets one twenty five to one eleven.
Cleveland and Boston each one again.
Steph Curry is playing for the Warriors tonight despite of bruce tailbone. The Nuggets lead late first quarter forty two to thirty at Golden State. There are two late games about to start, Lakers hosting New Orleans which is twenty one and fifty five, Dallas at the Clippers. Yes, they're in separate arenas in LA now. Anthony Davis now with the MAVs, is out tonight. In the NHL, Yes, two goals for Alex Ovechkin at Washington Caps five to three winners against Chicago, so career goals number eight ninety three. At eight ninety one four, he ties for the NHL's all time mark wins for Detroit and the Islanders. The LA Chargers signed backup quarterback Trey Lance. The Bear sign backup QB case Keenum wide receiver Julio Jones officially retired after thirteen seasons. He did not play last year. Patrick Reed leads Live Golf EVN in Miami by two strokes, tied for second. Or Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryceon De'shamba. Brian Harmon leads the Texas opened by four strokes.
Mike's brother. I don't know that that is my younger brother's name.
Was he the guy that taped his mouth shut during the round?
That a different Okay, yeah, well he's.
The quiet Harmon Anyway, I.
Was gonna say there's a joke in there somewhere.
Jordan speed shot his second round seventy three, fell to a tie for twenty second in San Antonio. The Masters starts next Thursday, or Minor Nascars on FS one again the next couple of Sundays to Major League Baseball, only a couple games still going. In Anaheim, Guardians lead the Angels to one in the second and top of the ninth inning, and it's just gone final. Milwaukee a three to two winner against the Cincinnati Reds. This is a team that lost one nothing each of its last three previous games. Tonight they were no hit until the seventh inning. They had gone thirty five straight scoreless innings. Milwaukee three to the final.
All right, so.
Progress, what you said it is?
Look at the glass half full? Progress? They scored two runs.
Baby steps. Philadelphia beat the Dodgers three to two.
San Francisco won it's fifth straight and eleven inning win over Seattle ten to nine. Cubs beat the Padres three to one. Yankees Aaron Judge is sixth homer of the year in a nine to four New York win at Pittsburgh and in the snow at Colorado Athletics won in eleven innings, six to three. Just wait till the A's get into Vegas. Probably no snow walking into that game.
Back to you.
More people at the A's Rockies game in Colorado or at Colorado's pro day.
Oh, there's a lot of people.
In the day. All right, don't check it.
All right, game reading some coaches that weren't supposed to be there.

I have been eliminated from that for a long time because I picked Saint John's and again, never again not doing it, Mike Saint John. I'm still upset.
Well, you know what, that's coach of the year though, except for that final five minutes. Shouldn't they shouldn't that break the tie?
I mean even that pissed me off. Today. I said, oh, look like because you know how much should I say? Hey, Patinos, coach of the year in college hoops is not even close? Right?
You couldn't get over walk over his body fast enough to get to Calipera. Yeah, yeah, And then he said, here, hold my beer. I'm gonna go and have a bigger lead that he He was the coach of the year until you said that. Oh man, maybe it's my fault.
Maybe maybe you're the great George grim Reaper, maybe my fault. Saint John's was doing fine until that guy decided to say something about me. All of a sudden, Patinos calling JJ Reddick going, did this guy screw you like he screwed us. I think he screwed up our j Lewis too, And now he's in the transfer portal and we're not getting the back.
It's like the no homers rule.
Hey, we were allowed to have one, but it's the anti Jason club.

We'll have more college basketball coming up in a few minutes. Give you our fearless picks for this weekend. I'll give you one fearless pick right now. Yukon will be going to the championship game in women's hoops.
Year old.
They are something Ucla right now, early in the third quarter, by twenty two. So yeah, it looks like they should cruise into the championship.
They skip halftime.
I think they did. Think.
I think they seemed like that.
They went from a first quarter gino orim I interviewed in third quarter real.
Yeah, all of a sudden.
Yeah, we're just joining this game already in progress.
Listen, it's kind of a running clock, right, we want we get people out of here. The game is late, all right, it's already almost ten o'clock. We're gonna get go a little earlier.
And I feel bad putting into those terms because UCLA has had a hell of a run this year.
Yes, they've lost, they've only lost to USC, well until tonight, USC and Yukon.
There you go.
So today was pro day in Colorado for Colorado's two superstars. Travis Hunter and Shador Sanders didn't get a lot from Travis Hunter. He kind of ran patterns for Shador Sanders, who looked pretty good in his own pro Day.
Which is more than Travis was expected to do.
Yeah, I mean, I don't think you look. Honestly, I think pro days at having them do stuff is so overrated. I get you want to see him run and do things, but it's kind of overrated. But before we get to the big advice that I could get Shador Sanders locked into the top three in the draft, here's the best quote of the day. Because you know, Coach Prime is not going to let this moment go without milking it. For all it's worth. Making Colorado Pro Day a thing we'll see you every year. Is going to make this whole big thing. It's a big party. Come out to our Pro Day. We have all these great players. But what I love is what he said about Brown's owner Jimmy Haslam. Likely because oh the possibility exists one or two of my kids, because he says Travis Hunters is his other child. One of my two kids gonna have to go play in Cleveland. Here he is talking about Brown's owner Jimmy Haslam, plesand it was charming, it was engaging, and uh, it was cool. It was like, he's a good guy, and I like, like coach, I think one of those guys gonna be there.
I like the guy.
I love He's a good guy. I loved him. Not even Brown's fans are saying that about Jimmy Haslam. No one has said That's been a lot.
Of court cases that would say Jimmy Haslm's not that guy.
I like him. He's a good guy. Yeah, I like it.
Yeah.
Oh, oh Man, coach Bride, coach Briant. You gotta you gotta go to the Google machine, and uh, I'll go to Wikipedia and look at Jimmy Haslam.
Which is which is better than that quote or when he said he would buy Shiloh a car if he ran a four to four.
Oh, that's a good one. Whatever a car is out there for something, you know, gonna Oh, I gotta think he has a really nice car.
That's like me offering Jason a billion dollars if he can run into a four four.
I don't know. I think there's a chance of Shiloh Sanders running a four.
Forty, No chance. That's why offered a car I no, he wait.
A minute, wait a minute, forty yards or twenty yards. I can give you four four twenty yards forty and I struggle.
You ain't doing four four twenty steps bad enough.
I'm not doing four four four yards.
No, I'm doing I'll do a four four twenty four four forty nine.
It's not a four Moses.
I might, I might do a I might be the first guy to run a four to twenty yard dash. I'm running a four to two. I'm running a four to one in a twenty yard dash.
That was great for four fu faux fo.
Fo fo fo fo faux foe. Ham's a great guy, he's a great love at But look, here's the thing for Shador Sanders, right, and this is someone who needs my public relations advice more than anybody. Right. He obviously does because you are seeing his name potentially slip through the draft. And whether you agree with it or not, perception is reality. And that's what a lot of people have to understand that perceptions. Maybe you're misunderstood, maybe why I'm not saying, but the perception is that boys, Schador Sanders didn't impress a lot of people at the combine with some of the things. The optics about him aren't great. So now you're seeing a guy who was once a lead pipe since to go in the top two or three slipping through the first round. I've seen mock drafts where hey, he could be there at six or seven for the Jets, and the Saints might be able to come up and get him, and maybe Jackson Dark goes before. It's like, you have to stop this silliness now, right because teams when they get to the draft, they look for reasons to say no, right whenever it's boy, we're spending a lot of money on a guy who got to maybe you got to get this quarterback decision right, and you are looking for reasons to say no because we'd rather make a different decision and take Travis Hunter, who is a great player, will sell his jersey and he is an amazing you know, if he doesn't go number one, or for cam Ward goes number one, whatever, it is like, we're looking for a reason we got to say yes to somebody, but you look for reasons to say no unless it's someone who checks all the boxes we really hope to get and we got our fingers crossed and Shador Sanders the last few months. Again, it doesn't matter if you agree or not. The perception is, hey, his optics aren't great, and people want to know if I'm drafting a quarterback. I want to know that I'm drafting a leader. I want to know that I'm drafting someone that's going to step up to challenges and is going to accept responsibility and not shirk their way from it or blame their offensive line. Shador Sanders needs to go on a redemption tour over and it was great today seeing you know, seeing him on set today was a good first step. But he's got to talk. He's got to go very publicly on a bunch of different sports stations. He's got to talk to teams that are picking in the top three, and he's got to assuage them. I am your guy, and you know, and Dion's got to do the same thing, because the last thing you want is him falling through the draft. You need to make teams, Hey, you take my guy. You're gonna get a superstar player because he has all the tools. I love everything about him on the field. But you're spending money on a guy. Hey, Okay, we're entrusting in the next three years of our franchise. Weant to make sure you're up to this and not someone who's gonna, you know, shrink from the challenge or blame other people. Like we want to know that you're going to be a leader here and players are gonna want to follow you. You have to go on the next two and a half weeks and say, hey, I'll do all the injews, talk to all the teams. I can't everything I can, so they know it is good to take me and you are getting a superstar guy.
Yeah, the question always comes out of the anonymous sources. You know, the guy that's the most salty is the one that's quickest to the keyboard or to the reporter to go.
You know, I have some thoughts on this. Just don't use my name.
Don't use my name, which means you can have nineteen people in the room that are all on board and the one guy's like, yeah, I just did like he didn't, you know, address me the right way. He nodded a little do non chalantly in my direction. So I don't know the stuff of the lineman is the one one thing I think I would press him on in interviews. Otherwise I want a guy who thinks he can take over the world. That's the whole point in drafting a quarterback at that space.
Yeah, but there's there's two. You know. We're gonna have more on this coming up next. Jason and my Fox Sports Radio said about seedings going into the tournament, but so far it has just been everything you can from the beginning of the game. And they will go to the fourth quarter with a twenty three point lead over UCLA.
That's why Gino had his long extended post first quarter interview.
He knew what the score would be.
He is already looking at it going licking his chops, especially the number of turnovers they caused in that first quarter. Yeah, he's been on easy Street the whole way.
Now, I will say, look, it's tough for you know you and I living in Los Angeles here, UCLA the women's team, both women's teams were incredible stories this year. Right and obviously georg let C which would have been a heavy favorite to win it all. Juju Watkins gets hurt, missus the tournament they get, we're getting the championship game that the entire country wants to see. You have Dawn Staley and a South Carolina team she's going for four to zero in championship games. They're in the final four six out of the last seven years. Here they are. They roll over like they lost Camilla Cardoso last year. Doesn't matter. To have a lot of players back from a year ago. And here's Yukon back where they had been their birthright, the undefeated team that really birthed this era of women's college basketball back in ninety five. Here they are back with his best player that he's had since then in Page Beckers. And this is the game that's got the most appeal across the country. And then every you're gonna see incredible numbers for this game. People tuning in on Sunday.
Well, I mean we had some of those the women players on during the final four in championship games of years past. It seems like a long time ago when we talked to Brianna Stewart when they were winning.
Oh yeah, when they finished the job.
Right for Gino Oriama, it's been almost a decade, right, so now it's I'm to go in and fight to get the crown. But it's exactly what we anticipated and wanted to see, right, here's two of your big stars, much like on the men's side, we've always watched the players cycle through when occasionally we grab it to take towards someone, like we did with Cooper Flagg, but it's usually been about aren't the coaches? Why did we get a lot of run for CALIBERI why are we talking about you know, Kelvin Sampson and Bruce Pearl and Shier taking the reins from coach k and making it here. It's it's the coaches keep the line moving, and for Dawn Staley and geno Oriama, they stirred the drink. So the extra couple of days of media availability ought to be a lot of fun.
Yeah this is I'll tell you what that's gonna be. A hey, look, Sunday suddenly turned into a day where wait a minute, wait a minute, we got national champion, we got Alex Ovechkin, maybe breaking Gretzky's record. Suddenly Sunday is like whoa, whoa, whoa man, it's a big day on Sunday.
Well, I'll get it all started here nine to eleven, me and Byer here on Foxports Radio nine to eleven Pacific, of course, leading into some record breaking days.
Here we go, oh, here we go. I mean that's suddenly Sundays like it's a big day. You get a big day.
Well, and then we come back on Monday and it'll be.
A championship night. I've confirmed Tysher will be in the chair.
No, come, yeah, this will be the first national championship game at either sport. Tyshirt has worked in maybe five years. You're really working Monday, Tyshirt.
Jason, if you keep that attitude.
Up, okay, okay, but right now you are you? I mean really, because I really I have to talk to the bosses and go How is Alex Tycher not working on the nights in the national championship in college football? In college basketball? How is he not here? How is he not.
I don't know why.
Science You go ahead, Yeah, after you work somewhere for a decade, you get like new better ways of life.
I think it's called no, I get that.
But like these these are big days, you know, I mean, when you're when you're a parent, you know, and all of a sudden, you know, hey, I've I've gone really hard and heavy for a lot of Christmases. I'm taking this one off. But the kids want Chris. But the children love the books. But the kids love Christmas. I'm sorry. You figure out Christmas, your honey. I'm going to Vegas. I'm done, I'm out. I'm sorry. I can't be here for Chris. It's a big day on Monday. The National Championship Games are big days.
It's chalk madness.
Now, it's where did you hear that phrase? Because you can.
Of the chalk.
Someone's gonna take that though. It's it's chalk madis because it's all the one scenes that are written now really, and.
Then you walk up and you scratch it like the chalkboard if you're if you're quit in jaws.
Okay, all right, just I mean that.
Was a head tail, the whole damn fish.
I'm saying that was a pretty good thing to come up with there, Tycher. Because chalk madness, I think could be a thing that someone writes a big article about or talks about, like the thing chalk madness. Man, it's chalk madison. We don't like the upsets, We just we just want the ones. In the end, it's gonna be the ones. Chalk madness. So like that, chalk madness.
Like that, Okay, uh, that's almost to chocolate madness.
Yeah, hey, ooh, chocolate madness.
Good.
You know there's a place near where I live called Chocolate Bash, and I'm like, let's go to Chocolate Bash. Why what's there? It's called Chocolate Bench.
Should be that should be the party that we put together for New Year's Eve, coming hay out with DJ Alex ty Shirt, Carmon and Smith and Chocolate Bash six.
It's anything you could possibly want. Chocolate like is like pancakes and waffles and drinks. All of my got chocolate Bashes.
How do we get the animated like little robotic dogs that people can pick up and take a bite out of like their homer.
No in Zeeland of chocolate.
So chocolate.
We'll got more college basketball coming up in a bit. And again Mike and I are going to give you our picks for this weekend for the men's tournament. But we were talking about Shador Sanders few minutes ago had his pro day. He and Travis Hunter both had their pro days and today in Colorado and Shadoor Sanders pro day on the field went terrifically. Right. The guy's a great quarterback. Right. He's got the arm strength, he's got the moxie, he's got the knowledge, he's got everything. You want, and he is tough man. He is the one thing you have. They haven't talked about him enough. Is how tough he is on the field, the hits he takes, standing in the pocket, going to get first downs. He is bleeping tough. But he's sliding through the draft. According to a lot of people, Hey, we can see this happening, and these our pundits who wind up talking to people that maybe Chador Sanders makes his way out of the top three, right, and likely Travis Hunter isn't. Cam Ward's going to be in the top three, but Shador Sanders might make his way out of the top three because he hasn't given everybody great optics over the course of the past couple of months since the combine, and you go back to the middle of last year when he blamed his offensive line for why he didn't have a great day. You need to make sure that teams feel good about drafting you when you're a quarterback, because it's more than just hey, here's a guy coming in with an attitude. That's fine from a running back, and a wide receiver or an edge rusher or a shutdown corner, that's fine, But a quarterback, it's a little different, man. It's we want to know that you have the responsibility the ability to lead. You are going to be the face of this franchise, right, a face of this franchise. And I know you say, oh, I like the guys that say that, say oh, I could take on the world. That's not what I'm saying. There's plenty of guys that always say I want to take on the world. But I want to know that you have the responsibility to take the shoulder that you can shoulder losing and you can be able to still lead through adverse circumstances. It's not about just having the big Baker Mayfield swag that Hey, I'm great, I'm great, look at me, look at that. No, it's about being able to be to have that ability to not just throw the football, but to be able to lead as well.
No, but that's the thing, right is at this point outside and look, it's no small thing the calling out of the offensive line because a lot of those sacks are on here him much like anybody that went out of their way to you know, jump up on a soapbox to defend Caleb Williams in his sack total.
For the Bears, this year.
A lot of those are on him. And that's not to say the line is good in any way, shape or form. But part of that pie is the decision making you're making as a quarterback. So I think that would be the one piece I would push on. And that's where we we got so rudely cut off by you know, the we are.
Fault.
Well, well, I mean he can't change time. I mean she doesn't have the timestone. As much as I wish he did, sure can. I think he wanted to say something.
Then you see the pictures that we put up when when hey, Fox Sports Radio was hiring the pictures of tysan Is, It's of Tysher looking majestic in the room and in front of all the buttons. He could do stuff like that. Man, he's chooses, well.
But that's that's his choice, that's his power.
Cho Well, Jason, I haven't seen a reason to go back yet or forward.
Really, there's nothing that's happened in all of history that you would like to go back and change. Everything is fine.
I kind of like where's gone.
I want to see where it ends really right now, But.
There's nothing that you would change. I think there's a few things I would change really yeah, nah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what, I go back and change first overall number one thing. I would change Jerry's familias flipping quick pitch to in the in ninth inning a Game one of the World Series to Alex Gordon. I would change that in a in a second, I would change that. Yeah, I'd say, hey, no, quick pitch it, just throw it regular.
Would you have Aaron Judge catch the ball to Vex Frostburg.
No, I would not know.
Oh no, No, I would cover first base.
I'd make garageje. No, I'd leave that World Series exactly as it was. That was fantastic. No, I would leave that.
Until you know it left things strained with you and Wald for a while there. All of it to say, this is where I was getting to, was the the idea of the any rip with the offensive line there. But I haven't heard a bunch of teammates coming out and bashing him, either in person or anonymously.
Right.
It's kind of the litmus test we have with with Aaron Rodgers, how much how much noise versus you know.
Do you guys actually still like him? And if one guy.
Though, because it's who's who's the coach, the coaches, his dad. You don't get any We've seen stories.
Yea quickly kick guys out before it might be halfway out the you know, across country anyway, he's he's not afraid to boot people out.
You think people are gonna step out and even anonymously say hey, yeah, Schador, is this kind of guy or this kind of lead. No, that's not happened in the Colorado program. Man, that's not happening unless you unless you want out, that's not happening.
No, I'd like to think some of those guys would stand up on it. And again, you can do it anonymously. There's plenty of folks that would love your quote. Operators are standing by. But for Shador Sanders like he showed the toughness, he showed, all of the arm strength, all of those things.
You check all these boxes.
And in the end, the NFL is ruled by the court position, so desperation comes in. So while it may not be Cleveland, may not be the New York Football Giants. I don't think he's drifting. I don't think we're suddenly sitting there where it's an Aaron Rodgers end of first first round where he's lonely sitting at the table, and you start joking with what should be on your playlist to accompany sad Aaron Rodgers face in the green room. No chador will go off the board pretty fast.
I'd like to think. So, I'd like to think when it comes down to it, people are gonna get a little are gonna get a little nervese say, well, the quarterbacks there, I gotta take him because look, what have I told you? I think you have to take him because this is where you get the you know, a quarterback's at gut field. But you also take a little bit of a risk because you don't know how a guy is gonna pan outuntil you really see him, put him up or what really is there? Next year?
Right now, the arch arch may not come out, and you know what, arch may not be any good.
Now, we as betting people.
We take all the preponderance of evidence for the Manning family, even the comedic stylings of Kupper as member of our Fox family.
I mean, there's a lot of talent going on there.
You can't wait, you can't wait, and to say, oh, I'll just get one next year, Like what do you mean You're gonna try to get one next year. When you have no idea how it's gonna go, how your team is gonna play, what the quarterback's gonna be like coming out? Who's coming out? Suddenly you think there's there's gonna be eight guys. Oh, we're gonna stay him. There's gonna be eight guys in seven games by accident.
What happens?
The right thing would be, Honestly, the right thing would be cam Ward won, and then Shador Sanders to Travis Hunter. Three. That's the way. That's the way it should go. The Titans need a quarterback. They love cam Ward. Yeah, I'm all in on cam Ward. Cam Ward is fantastic, right all? With him at number one and the Browns at number two, they should take Shador. Say you need a quarterback who knows when you're gonna get a chance to draft this high to get the second best quarterback coming out of college. Again, it's too much of a risk, so you take him. Now the Giants, Okay, well we needed we didn't get him. It's too early for Jackson Dart. We'll go gil get Travis Hunter, who will be our superstar. Right, he's probably good to play offense, gonna play defense, he's gonna give us an identity. That's a pretty good consolation prize. Then the rest of the draft can go from there. Abdull Carter at four. But those should be your top three picks. If everything is fair and everything is right, and you're taking the pick and teams are picking who they should be picking, that's the way it should go.
Yeah, as you're sitting here now, the assumption that cam Ward's off the board, Abdul Carter currently the favorite for the Browns, with Shudur second at plus seven hundred
