In his early life, Bernard Phelan fell in love with the culture and character that other countries around the world could offer. His travels took him first to Paris, where he would meet the love of his life, and later to Iran, a place that fascinated him.  
However, in October of 2022, while vsiting Iran, Mr Phelan was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned for 222 days.
