Ifeoma Obi is from Nigeria and now calls Tasmania home.

Ifeoma completed law degrees specialising in oil, gas and environmental law, and then in 2018 she was awarded a scholarship to study for a PhD in maritime law at the Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania in Launceston. Ifoema has now completed her doctorate and is on the teaching staff at the AMC.
