I'm gonna go Braves, Dodgers, Braves I just kind of trust their whole group. A lot of winning players there. Great weekend of MLB postseason. College football has I think four top top twenty five unbelievable college football weeks, and the NFL slate has the Jets Packers, you know on Sunday Money owning quarterback Albert Bird joining us live all right, Odell Beckham. He likes to go on social media, poke this poke that we're not sure. I think he fits really well in Green Bay. Doubt it happens. I think if Alan Robinson ended up being as dynamic as we hoped, he wouldn't be in play in LA. But I think he sort of is. What are you hearing about his health and his landing spot? Yeah, I mean I think that the idea has been all along that he'd be ready around mid November. So we're right on track, and that's going back to February that that's been the timeline. So he's been planning on this, you know. I think, really, Colin, you got to look at like what he went through last year and he saw the benefits of winning, and if he doesn't go down in that Super Bowl, I think he's got a pretty good chance to recoup some of them money he lost. He had a pretty sizeable third contracts, so I think he knows that going to a place where he can win will set him up to get a big pay day after the year. If he can prove he's healthy and again he can win another championship, then that'd be huge for him. So I think the Packers would certainly be in play. He obviously had talks with him last year. There's the relationship with Tom Brady. If Julio's situation continues to be murky, I could see the Buccaneers making a play for him. And then I think Buffalo is one you certainly need to keep an eye on because of the relationship with von Miller and obviously what Josh Allen could do for him as a quarterback. So yeah, I think the four teams to really kind of keep an eye on here would be the Rams, of course, because he was there. Does I think it's still as good an opportunity to win, We'll see, But the other three will be the Packers, the Bills in the box all right, Kansas City Metro PD is upset with Davante Adams. Is the league? Is his team? Is he facing a suspension because he's so vital to the Raiders, who are now one and four and about as good you can be in this league at one and four, like they really need him. They've their schedule softens a little bit. What's the Is there a suspension in the offing for Davante Adams? I think a fine is more likely than a suspension at this point. Obviously, you know, a suspension was on the table earlier in the week. But generally, generally, the way these things work is if they're going to suspend a guy, they like to get the information to the team ahead of their preparation for the week. And you know, now are pretty deep into the week of preparation for the Raiders. Generally, generally speaking, that means fine, not suspension, because the fines come out on Friday. Generally you'll hear about the suspension on Tuesday or Wednesday. You know. That said, I think there is some understanding here of why this happened. You know, it's sort of on the Chiefs to keep the tunnel clear. I know this is getting into some technical stuff about team operations and everything else, you know, but in a lot of different stadiums across the NFL, you'll see that if you're a fan with a field pass or you're a media member, you know that tunnel, that area right around the tunnel will be blocked off a lot of the right time. Yeah, I think Davante could reasonably say here, I was just shocked. There was somebody that was right in my path on the way the way up the tunnel, and I reacted poorly. But it was a very unusual situation, so obviously something that they have to punish. But I think there's a reasonable reason why they wouldn't suspend him in this situation. Okay, Um, listen, Washington's a mess as an organization, and it starts with Dan Snyder. Ron Rivera had to backtrack on Carson Wentz. They have moved off quarterbacks and coaches quickly. Let's say they go out tonight and Justin Fields wins. It's a dud. Is he the hottest hot seat in the league right now? Ron Rivera, Well, I think there are two different ways look at this number. One like yeah, Like, I think if you're backsliding three straight years your first three years with the team, and it looks like that's where the commanders are right now, there's no question that almost any other coach in the league would be in trouble. But I also think you have to look at the flip side of this, which is what was Ron Rivera brought in to do. He was brought in a lot of ways to sort of change the face of the franchising, give the franchise maybe a little bit of a softer look like that, something that was a little bit more relatable. And after everything they'd gone through previous to his arrival, the feeling was he could be a guy who could kind of change the image of the franchise. And I think in a lot of ways like he has served as like the human meat shield. You know, they saw him in Carolina, handled the Greg Hardy mess, handled the Cherry Richardson mess. Well, now you look at what he's sort of guided them through. The nickname changed, the workplace conduct scandal, all of that. Like he's had to be the face of all of that. So I think the question here becomes how much collateral has Ron Rivera built up with ownership in being the guy who's stood in front of it and taking bullets for the owner when the owner wasn't willing to take him take them for himself. And so yeah, I think there's no question that on a performance. From a performance standpoint, you look at this and you say, yeah, he absolutely you know, we should be talking about whether or not he should have a job after the year. But because of the I think equity that he built up in the organization and taking a lot of bullets for the owner, I think it's an open question whether or not he survived. Well, you know, you know the Boston area. Well, Belichick kind of grumpy, grumbling. I mean, I can't barely understand. He's barely audible when he talks. I can't understand him. But I will say that Bailey's appy is your classic huge production in college, live feet, decent, arm, moves around. I don't think there's a massive gap Mac to Bailey in terms of the ability to complete a football in that offense. I just wonder what it's done. I know it's Max's team, but it is kind of interesting. Yeah, that that's the best they've looked in two years. Like what do you make of that? Yeah, you know, I think we're a little slippery for Mac. Here is like the physical gap isn't huge. Max's huge edge is upstairs, right, That's that's always been his superpower, his ability to see the field, his ability to maintain accuracy, from his first progression to his second bridget progression to his third progression. All of that stuff with Mac is pretty rare. But if he's going out there and throwing interceptions, turning the ball over like he did the first month of the season, right, well, then you know it does that edge that he has over Billy Zappy shrink a little bit. Now. I don't think there's an open competition here. I think I think Max will hold onto his job. But if you notice, over the course of the last three days, Bill Belichick has had two chances to shut down the idea that there'd be any competition here. He's been asked directly if when Mac is one hundred percent healthy, is he one hundred percent getting his job back? And Bill is boxed twice. And I don't think that's because there's an open competition. What I think that is is I think that's Bill putting pressure on Mac and saying, listen, dude, over the first month of the season, you freelanced a bunch, you turn the ball over a bunch, and we need you to stick to the script. And oh, by the way, Look at this kid who's coming from a spread offense in college, who played at Western Kentucky last year. Look what happens when we tell him what to do and he follows directions. So I think that in a certain way, Bill is going to use this with Mac to put a little heat on Mac. But I don't think Max's job is legitimately on Now. I don't think Zach Taylor. I mean that the Bengals don't fire coach as much and Zach just got to a super Bowl. But boy does the internet not like Zach Taylor and now Joe. I mean, he gets clobbered for play calling every week and I look at it night. What is the feeling around the league with your sources? Is this a Burrow caring an average coaching staff? I mean, what do you do? What do we make of Zach Taylor? And uh, you know, I mean we give McVeigh a lot of credit for Golf and Stafford. What do people think of Zach Taylor? I mean, I think Zack's done a really good job. You know. I can remember you know, sitting with you know, Sean McVay, who was his boss, and Sean saying to me like he's so impressed with what Zach was able to kind of guide that teams through and keep the team engaged through two losing seasons to get to the Super Bowl year. There's a lot to be said for that. I also think he's got one of the best offensive coordinators in football is Bill Callahan's son, Brian Callahan, who's going to be a head coach Roleace Sin. He's really well thought of throughout the league. Here's what the NFL thinks about what's going on in Cincinnati. It's almost identical to what happened in Kansas City last year. If you look earlier in the year for the Chiefs last year, everybody was playing two high safeties against them. It took a little while for Patrick Mahomes to adjust. That's happening with Joe Burrow and with te Higgins and with Jamar Chason with that group now. So there's an adjustment that needs to be needs to happen there. The other thing that mirrors Kansas City is last year at this point, people forget this now everybody was like Kansas City's offensive line changes didn't work. Like they've made all this change and it looks just as bad as it did in the Super Bowl, and over time, because that position requires communication and cohesion, it got better and better and better, and by the end of the year, with Orlando Brown and Joe Tuney and Creed Humphrey and Tray Smith in there, that actually became a team's strength. So that's the same thing Cincinnati's going through right now with new players along their offensive line, like Lyle Collins, like Alice kapp, I, like Ted Harris, and so I think that's a lot of where Cincinnati's at right now. It's a lot like where the Chiefs were in the middle of the year last year, where they're adjusting to a schematic change the defenses made against them, and also dealing with a whole lot of new personnel along an offensive line in a position area where communication and cohesion are so key. You know. It's it's interesting. About two or three months ago, I said, I named my top ten quarterbacks in the league. I put Lamar at eleven, and I think he's done such a great job. I know well. And by the way, and by the way, Albert, my top five is not real fluid Mahomes, Alan Rogers Brady, I'm a Herbert fan. That that's the fire. After that, I'll wiggle on Russell Burrow. Kyler, so I had him at eleven, but he has handled the blitz so well this year. You can watch it. He's also become hyper aware when he runs of who's around him. I'm so impressed with his growth that this morning I went through my top ten and I put like Lamar seven. I think Kyler has been a huge disappointment. I don't know what to do with russ What do you I mean? I I look at Lamar and I can see every year a little bit. I think he is really matured this year, like popped your thoughts. Yeah, I think that, you know. I think we talked about this a couple of weeks ago, me and you like his ability to manipulate defenses from the pocket and what he's able to do back there. And I think it was best best best illustrated by a play in that Jets game in the opener where he moved to safety with his eyes and no look the ball to Devin Dubern for a touchdown. He wasn't doing that stuff before. So you see where he's starting to manipulate defenses from the pocket, which is new and I'm not saying he can do it at the level that Patrick Mahomes can do it yet, but when you add it to the amount of athleticism he brings the table and what he brings the table in the running game, it starts to become really hard to defend. So I think that's one part of it. I also think his poison latent games has been outstanding. Yes, And you look at the last couple of weeks. He beats the Bengals defense that is I think really talented, got to a Super Bowl last year against the Patriots, a defense that's very disciplined that plays to assignment. We've seen that over the early parts of this year. He completely breaks them down the stretch of that game, and so I think it's not just what he's doing, is who he's doing it against and how he's doing it. YEA. His ability to manipulate defenses and then beat really good, sound defenses at the wire, that to me is the difference this year and why I think he's very much an MVP candidate and solidly for me, maybe not you gone, but solidly for me within the top five quarterbacks in the week, which I'd agree it's a pretty tough group to crack. Yeah, yeah, great stuff. Albert Brewer is always money morning quarterback. Good seeing Anyboddy? All right? Thanks gone, yeah, No, I mean it's I always feel like my five is set, and then I get into a Stafford Kyler Burrow car. I've always had car like ten, I have to now move Russell Wilson out because I'm not gonna be stubborn on it. Like what's happened to his deep ball accuracy? Kyler has been terrible in the first half. Now Lamar supersedes him. Lamar is one of these guys who I had huge doubts early, huge and first year and a half. Even when he won the MVP, he felt like he played with a lead. He couldn't play from behind, the opposite of Mahomes he has made in the last two years, like big, big moves. Can I ask, so your top five, did you say Aaron Rodgers is in there? I would say it's Mahomes, Alan Brady and then Rogers, and I kind of feel like Herbert. I mean, if you look at Herbert's numbers, he's got his second coach, third coach in three years. We don't know if he's ever had a great coach um. His first year had terrible offensive line, and he's putting up massive now he's number he's number two in the NFL and passing again. But are we doing historically or just in the five days camps? No, no, I'm just saying everything's fluid, but my my front five is not terribly fluid. After that, like like Stafford, I could move from six to a ten. Yeah. For this season, Lamar Jackson has been better than Aaron Rodgers period. End a story. Aaron Rodgers has not been good, and I've been a Rodgers defender. I know you guys have a checkered history, but Rogers has. No, he's not been sniffed the top five this year. I mean he's got new new receivers, but still he's not been good. Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd Weekdays and New Easter. Not a Empacific J Mack with the News. No, no, this is the Herd. Colin Padres even things up against the Dodgers last night. I know you watched a lot of the game. We had some buddies at the game. Machado went deep early off Kershaw. It was close, and then the Padres put him away with the eighth inning dinger from Jake Croneworth. Listen one one series, Game three tomorrow night, eight thirty Eastern, five thirty on FS one. It's weird with baseball, but I don't feel like the Dodgers are in trouble yet either, do I? Okay? No, I mean listen to Machado gives him a lead, and it just felt different. Kershaw was fine. It was it was three three for a while, it was fine. We had two really good pictures. Darvish, who I never I never considered Darvish a great big game picture. Now baseball people could say I'm wrong, but I thought one of the knocks on him in his last stop or two was that he was good size and stuff, but he wasn't great in big spots. I thought that was his reputation for years. But I thought he was. You know, it was good last night. Dodgers still favored in the series, obviously. Now if they lose Game three, then we can we can talk about some concern. The pressure is all on the Dodgers because they have literally dominated the Podreys like they've dominated almost no other well, they've dominated the pod Raise more than any good team in baseball, and mean this. I think they've won like nine straight series. I could be ten. Yeah, all right, next up NBA. Okay, we gotta go back to this Russell Westbrook thing. So you talked about it with Buker. There's two videos of Russell Westbrook from last night. Now in the last hour, Colin, people have been watching the show and a lot of people are sending videos. This is much ado about nothing, Jason. This Patrick Beverley moment. If you look at the what spectrum the local cable showed here. Russ was talking to the bench during this moment, so he couldn't hear Anthony Davis and Beverly calling him over, which I called totals. So the other one they say Russ historically in during the intros is not with the team like you see him run to the corner here. Here's what's different. They haven't even huddled up yet and he's getting away from the huddle. Colin, Well, why are people so hard up to defend Russell Westbrook here? Well, because this is a glamor style league and he has both. And in the NFL, if you didn't win games, you're a bum. And in baseball, if you don't hit three hundred. You're a bum in basketball. You can be on a losing team, but if you've got some style and some flair, you're beloved. I mean, I could give you fifteen players in this league like that. So um, I mean, he's got style, he's fashionable, he's got a cool quotient, he's got a lot of historic stats. So I think people will to the very end support Westbrook and there's no reason are you over it? But I mean the reality is he is a very kind of rigid personality and that's who he is, and you've got to come to terms with That. Doesn't mean he can't be on your team. But I do think he has not aged gracefully. Is that fair? Yeah? I mean Steph Curry is aged very gracefully. Lebron is age gracefully. Rayalen did. Some players do, some don't. He's hyper athletic. When the athleticism ebbs or flows erodes, he's not the same player. Is there a world where Darvin Hammond Pelinka can sit down Russell Westbrook and say, listen, Russ, you have had had remember in the past, a great career. If you want to continue to be successful, we need you to do different things. Is there a world where you can say that to Russell Westbrook in twenty twenty two without him storming out of the room. I don't know the answer to that. That's scary that you can't tell the professional athlete who's making forty seven million, here's what we need you to do for our team to well. There were reports again in like the La Times, that he would get very upset with coaches who called him out during film study. As confident as he seems, he tends to be very sensitive. Yeah, how many titles does Russell Westbrook caf Well, then that's unfair? What even that's unfair? You want to win? Fall in line? How is it? How is that unfair? Put up? You can put up empty stats. Go ahead, do it. You're not gonna win anything, all right, I'm beating up on him. An all right. We'll wrap up with week six in the NFL tonight colin Washington and Chicago. I know you're gonna be glued to the TV. Chicago. It is in Chicago weather. It looks like it's to be fine, maybe a little chili in the forties. Both these teams struggling. I will I just saw a crazy stat Carson Wentz has more touchdown passes this season than Jalen Hurts and Cooper Rush combined ten to eight. So is Wentz having a terrible season. A big Carson Wentz. People have made their mind up on Carson Wentz. The Colts are thirty second in scoring now that he's gone. They were ninth last year with him. And he took all the heat in that organization. The Colts offense is lifeless without him, it is lifeless. It is dead. And he took all the heat. He had twenty seven t D seven picks. If I didn't tell you who it was, and I said, yeah, the Colts quarterback twenty seven seven. That's a four to one TD to interception ratio. That's like historically unheard of. So Wentz has a little bicep tendon strain. But that's not all. This morning, it came out that Washington quarterback William Jackson, who they spent a lot of money on last year, he wants out. He said, you guys are playing too much zone. I'm a man corner. He didn't even make the trip to Chicago. There is some major dysfunction. Rivera, the defensive coordinator. The worst I mean they just got him. I mean, he's demanding a trade when they're one and four, and it's just like, what's going on? Fox Bet has Washington favored favored tonight over the Bears. I'll take the Bears. Give me a score twenty three, twenty oh high scoring. I'm on the over two. I'm gonna go Washington twenty one, twenty and a nail biter. You know, the worst games are usually good. Listen to Denver, Indie overtime game. It was terrible football, but you were glued to it last week, right, Yeah, defending Russell Wilson. Nobody else in America is all right? J Mack for the news. Well that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the Herd Line new Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in neun Eastern not a Empacific on Fox Sports Radio FS one and the iHeart Radio app. Where do you get when you combine a three time Manager of the Year at a retime national sports writer of the Year. Foxbet Super six has given away nearly eight million dollars to over eighty thousand winners, So don't miss out. Who you like I'll go Michigan. Yeah, but I did bet the first half under a little exotic I think two experienced quarterbacks to veteran coaches who know each other, slow feeling out process, low scoring initially at the first time. Who do you like? Sc or Utah everybody in their mom has Utah, everybody every You can't find anybody picking USC. So I'll take the Trojans Bama Tennessee. How's this. I think the line's gonna drop because I I don't think Bryce Young's gonna play, and I think Tennessee wins outright. Hendon Hooker is a guy you want to bet to win the Heisman before this weekend because if he wins this game, they're probably going eleven and one. I don't think they'll be Georgia and Hooker's gonna have good numbers and a win over Alabama. Well, who's the Heisman favorite right now? Colin? Like, it's not Stetson Bennett anymore, the kid from Georgia. He's been terrible the last like three games. So then you're like, is there a defensive players or a receiver? Like look into the Heisman Ods, it's very strange, wide open, good stuff, jay Man, Big Saturday. All right, now it's time for If the Cleat Fits Odell Beckham Junior Edition. You give me the team. There's obj fit he is talking about nice. Nice. Let's look at this chart. I love it, all right, If the cleat fits Odell Beckham I can't say this with a straight face. Or the Brown's a good fit for Odell Beckham, No, not a fit. They're a run heavy team and he already forced his way out of Cleveland last season, so that doesn't fit. Yeah, we'll go with the Dallas Cowboys. Is there a good fit there? Gallop is back Ceedee Lamb, I say, not a fit. Again, a run centric team. They got rid of Amari Cooper and they see Ceedee Lamb as their one, and they don't want to get in the way of Ceedee Lamb developing continuing to develop as a one. I think it would be a distraction. Not a fit. Okay, if the cleat fits the Raiders and Odell Beckham, No, not a fit. They just paid Davante, they just paid Hunter Renfro and they just paid Derek Carr. So I like their offense. I think this is the best one in four team in a long time. That's not their need. I don't think he's a fit there. They need a head coach. Are the Rams a good fit for Odell Beckham? Yeah? I mean they have seven touchdowns in eleven games and the Allen Robinson move hasn't paid off. They're averaging the fewest yards per play. Think about this in the NFL. That's what Stafford and McVeigh. So they need somebody they can get the ball too quickly because the old line's not holding up, and can make plays downfield. So he I think he. I think this is the first or second best fit. Okay, I largely agree with you. Are the Tennessee Titans a good fit for Odell Beckham? Yeah? I would say not a fit. Mike Rabel's a no nonsense guy, run heavy team you got. I don't know if ob j would declining Ryan Tannehill. I don't think it's where he wants to go. That just doesn't feel right to me. Definitely not. Now this one's interesting. The players from this team are recruiting him. Are the Giants a good fit for Odell beck I thought about this. No, Daniel Jones has struggled with the deep ball, seventy two passer rating on deep balls. He forced his way to New York, and again I think Daniel Jones, Brian Dable, they're working, he's ascending, he's growing. You don't need any distractions. I gotta give it to your staff. I had not considered this one, but I like it. The Baltimore Ravens, whose number one receivers hurt Bateman. Devin DuVernay is like number two. Are the Ravens a good fit. I think I was talked into it. Yes. So, first of all, they did lose Hollywood Brown. This is production that comes in. Bateman is currently battling an injury. A tight end leads them in receptions. And again, I think one of the elements about Baltimore is they are fast, and you just go with your strength. Add to your strength. I think Baltimore would appreciate him. I think Lamar would appreciate him. And again, you wouldn't need him to dominate the offense. Lamar and Mark Andrews do. But seven targets, five catches, speed on the bubble screens over the middle. I think he works in Baltimore. I like that one. If the cleat fits Buffalo, Bills and Beckham, this one, I don't get. It's not a fit. First of all, they have two star receivers and they're the number one passing offense in the league, So why do I have to add to that if you can give me a left guard. But I don't think you need distractions. This team passing is not a problem. Davis and Devon Stavon Diggs. I'm not taking catches away from those guys or targets. All right, Let's go to Andy reading the Kansas City Chiefs. If the cleet fits Odell and Casey, they've made so many moves, why do another one? Because I still I still think Kansas City's trying to figure out the Schuster Smith piece and Valdiaz Scantling piece. I mean, they've got these they got I think they have three rookie receivers. They're spreading the ball around like crazy. I don't know if there's room for another mouth to feed. I just think they're they're winning, is they're trying to kind of figure out their offense, and I don't think it's I really don't think it's clicking yet. I thought it was ugly in the first half against the Raiders defense. So I don't think adding another guy that needs seven targets in Kansas City doesn't. I think it would work, but I don't think it's the right fit. And I think we saved the best for last. If the cleat fits the Packers and Odell, that this one, to me is a gimme. First of all, they do not have the ability now losing Scantling and Davante, they can't throw the ball over the top. They're becoming much easier to defend. That's why they don't score in the second half. They can out scheme and script you early, but when you have to have a playmaker in the second half, they don't have anybody over the top, and so what you're this is also not one of the better offensive lines for the Packers last ten years. They've had great old lines. It's an Oko line. You cross your fingers back tier stays healthy. They lost their center a couple of years ago, a pro bowler of the Chargers, So you know this is not They need speed. They need a playmaker. Also, I think Romeo Dobbs at Odell Beckham, he can teach them a little thing. The veteran comes in. They've got some similarities to their game. I think it's a great fit. Also, Aaron Rodgers, do you know Randall Cobb leaves the team in receiving yards whatever it is. Rogers and Tom Brady, they liked their veterans. I mean Brady fought for ab Gronk. He always fights for Julio Jones. Brady trust guys that know the route tree he can trust. Aaron's not throwing to a guy if he doesn't trust him. Yeah. By the way, those Packers receivers, they're not scaring the Jets this weekend, Sauce Gardner, DJ Reid on the outside, you're feeling good about that. They don't need safety out. I mean, I'm feeling irrationally good here. Not as good as I did against the Dolphins last week that was automatic. Do you think do you think the Jets can win? Yeah, I've done an about face on the Packers, and I concede you were correct on green Bay to keep him out of the hurd hierarchy. Top ten, Well, my big right this year was green Bay. My big wrong was Russell Wilson. All My big right was also the Minnesota Vikings. So far so far, Yeah, over thirty. I didn't feel about the Vikings in Miami this weekend. That number crept up to four. Well, that's a lot to lay on the road. Five. I liked it. Well Miami. Now we're in mid October, so it is not kind of the ninety eight degree where you take the North team in September down to Miami and they just evaporate. That's what happens when you take Utah to play the Florida Gators in like late August, early September. We're just out west. We're just not used to that heat. So that part is not a factor. So I think Minnesota wins it, and fairly handily. They have a third string quarterback starting all like keep hearing is he was phenomenal in the preseason. You know, it's it's interesting you bring that up. That's a good point. That used to have value. Remember what Dak was good in the preseason, and there was some correlation between that and the regular season because starters played. Starters no longer play in the preseason. So how many I mean Romeo Dobbs in the preseason was going to be Dubbs. It was going to be like a Jerry Rice. But you're not. Nobody's first team corners play and nobody's first team pass rushers. So over thirty one thousand businesses have a confidence they need in netsweet. Go to netsweet dot com slash heard and the numbers don't lie. In the last decade, over four million p people have chosen simply save home security free indoor security camera.
