Man, can you give these people a run down on what you was evolved in?
Man? The for was writing the country Grammar app. I wrote majority of that, you know, like yeah you can find a saint little Hey, why they play ring Yard that I wrote, you know, ninety percent of that record than Nellyville. A lot of that record, but a lot of the concepts would be mine. You know what I'm saying, Like that, like that concept. You know what I'm saying, eighty t how important the concept as far as like asl you know what I'm saying, grills the concept mine tell feather because it was originally my song. So I was just the one I used to like said before I used to just like get all the beats. You know what I'm saying, just take them home and do something rough tour. You know what I'm saying. If I do some loves ample to him, they're like them. So I wrote, like you know what I'm saying, and like all on them with all the drakes that are going on the writers, you know what I'm saying, it's you know, I wrote a lot I did wrote a lot, but he can't get right to the magga. Writers can't write as fast as I can, you know what I'm saying. So I was, you know what I'm saying, the loan take out, and I wrote all the hooks, enjoyed all the hooks, and cut you all the beasts. But I was the oldest all. You know what I'm saying. But the whole thing about somebody writing raps and stuff like that, I think it's thing man, you trying to make a hit record, and it's a team thing. Yeah.
That don't mean that this cat can't write or this dude can't write. I think people just you know, put trying to put hit records together, try to put their best foot for it, and it's a team thing. And I know, like with Aid hisself height, you wrote one hundred percent of all here stuff. Yeah, you never had the luxury off having nobody wrong. That was really a hook master. They could say, hey, let's try this hook right there. You did everything.
Yeah, we kind of keppt everything in the house, you know what I'm saying. And for the fact that I kind of wrote everything and I would give verses to chill, you know what I'm saying just on the strength. But we was just you know, a four men crew, so nobody was you know, really besides me because Mike was a DJ, and then once Chill I had to go sit down for a minute. It was basically just me, Mike and Slip. Slip did all the beats. Mike did all the cutting, and I did all the writing, and we didn't pretty much deal with you know a lot of outside uh entities. As far as you know, I never got approached, you know, on the on the you know eight I got a tight song or whatever whatever, you know, not to say, I wasn't down to you know, uh listen to somebody's ideas or whatever. But basically, like you said, Ali, concepts is everything.

If you ain't got a concept, man, you ain't got a song and ship coming up with them. Concepts, man's valuable because then you just got a gang and run on sentences and a gang and just talking about anything and whatever. So I value that man all day.
Yeah, you know that's the truth, and that that that I think when it won't bat, when it when it okay, that's if I remember all all the members, right. Yeah.
I used to basically write until you know, niggas started doing their own you know, projects or whatever, and then like you said, not to say that motherfuckers couldn't write, but it was just that I was the motherfucker who came up with all the concepts to the songs.
So if if I just roll them out, then I'm just gonna be like here, I'm gonna do these two verses. You do this version, you do this first, And that really kept us on the same page. You get me, Yeah, exactly. That was something like Airport was on. It was exactly the concept like you know what I'm saying, we do it like this is gonna be crazy, gone, it's gonna rock the world. Do I just we're gonna take it was actually Murphy Lee word from Midwest Swing where he said, uh yeah, by the way, I walked back round here, I tell you. He said something like, uh oh, my airport was one was give me two pers so I even take your rynd. You know what I'm saying, like right making a look like that that should be a hook right there when remember merp said this, make that the hook. You know what I'm saying stuff like that, Like I was doing it because like cut your grandma, like down down Baby Yo Street, And that was in the verse that was, well, sometimes you come up with ship like that. You had the burgers and.

Every time they start your fresh you get a little more lead way with the company and with the record, with the radio stage and all that that you had it here record, but and you can start your beginning could be a little longer, but you know when you first come out, just kick it off. We have a jam. You gotta keep on making. It was just like a team, team effort and then that's what.
I see, because that's why I say it kind of reminded me of accomplished most wonder the way in the Midwest was realed in the house. They kept the same producer for a long time. He didn't go to old bunch outside producers, Like you wouldn't go fire an m skate album and find Timberland did this track. You know, the real did this one and Trey did this one. No, it was the same cast. It was kind of the same thing, but the same lunatics. You know, you don't come in and assist with the thing. Y'all was a group, but y'all played it like a crew and not like man that Nellie kept one hundred. You know, he kept you all around for the whole runner everything.

So when I went to school and came back and I would signed with Professor Griff when he left pub again. He started to do hard productions. Like I said before, we was just in the dawn rooms and everybody was teasing everybody. We was teasing everybody from Mama Potas, from the Bay and La. We was saying they country and all kind of shit. They said me, it's Ali. You say you cutry too, you say and everybody started saying hood parent good And I was like, I laughed, but I was like, dang, stay Eric, I say you know what I'm saying. So when I went back to the crib, it was like find a group. I got an idea seeing it. I know how I can do it because it's being back then around that time eight was on fire. I'm saying it was run in the ninety nineties, ninety one, so we didn't know it wasn't none of that. So we could see when we've seen you and you had them cagis all and them Kaki shorts something diggy shots and socks board up. We knew you. You know what I'm saying. If you the little make kango, you know what I'm saying, be bop style. We was like Tennessee. We had the ten minutes. All we knew you was from New York. It was like difference at the time. Now it's all a blurred in together stuff like that. We was all learning each other. I'm know eight and probably was gonna roll meeting because eight played a big part in I got on school. I was a wool tang fan. I got a bang it's and all banging shit, just like a wig butter large heavy on that when I went to school. When I got to school, I went back to us starting my roommate for me up. You know, back to day. I saw and ship like that. Just you know what I'm saying. I knew them, you know what I'm saying listening to them ship the but I kind of like drifted off to where it's like got heavy, so that's like wood chain. I came home and I ain't I ain't messed with that, And then it was slowly slow, but surely like they had a little remix. They had tom Me t h O. It was a different beat, like West Coast beat. Like they started liking it. But then when eight dead old dirty video, that's when everybody was like, oh, there was a big part of that. I was using that video you in the call where just in the car you didn't know you was at you wasn't.

We seen eight in the video and I'm like, what what what? Then everybody like, damnan, I listened to it that ate in the video. I think from the Midwest Land we have a tendency to kind of listen to everybody but West Coast. Bratt was definitely it hit because I think we kind of identified with them a little bit because you know, they would wear the dickies and stuff like that, and in Cleveland they would wear dickies and T shirts. Took us to me it was just poor people clothes. To me, that was just you wearing your pops clothes. You know, pops might have an old pair of dickies that become a new pair of school school pants.

When you ain't got a whole bunch of money in the crib dog, that's what you're wearing. You might have you one fair of nice Tilis shoes. And we met the last shoot over year. I don't know how your situation was coming up, but I wasn't getting to buy no whole bunch of shoes and stuff. I had to take my shoes off and I came.
I had a room spur, so I went started school off of us from LEVI that fit, and you know, once you washed them anyway, they kind of shrunk up anyway. Then I Yeah, then I grew in my flood and I had to rock muster of the Beastie Boys for a minute. You know what I'm saying, it's also tough, but nah that that time period because it was it literally went East Coast and they hole shine, it didn't go away. But then once it went to the West coasts that you know, n W Wayhead. You know what I'm saying. It's the whole transform over that that it was at that time period ninety eighty nine, ninety ninety one, cause still we the go the like my East Coast said rock Cam said, DC. His father was living in Watch and he told us the whole thing, like, ah, we all came out here in the seventies and Red Fox he had his show. We stopt moving out her was like, dang we most of us was like ship. Nigga.

Everybody got man, and I almost if you ever think about it, man, the West Coast center the South was almost always clicked up kind of. And I think that's because everybody from out of here got roots in the South. Like, hey, what's your people from Mississippi?

We used to have towns where niggas was on on that ship. They I haven't been turned the wear a few times spots where the presence of just gang niggas is just too much for niggas to handle.
