As the new academic year approaches, thousands of South African students are making critical decisions about where to study. Unfortunately, recent years have seen a rise in suspended higher education institutions or fraudulent institutions posing as legitimate places of learning. Institutions which lack compliance, or which are not registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) leave students with empty qualifications that have no real-world value.
