View descriptionShare

Did you know that potential isn’t all about natural ability?  It’s true! Sports psychology is one way to help push our boundaries and develop performance potential.

Catch Associate Professor Amber Mosewich, from the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation from the University of Alberta about how the psychology of high performance can improve your game – on the sports field, and in life.

Meet  Amber Mosewich

Dr. Amber Mosewich is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. She earned her PhD in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2013, after which she moved to Adelaide to work as a Lecturer at the University of South Australia. She returned to Alberta in 2016 to join the University of Alberta. Dr. Mosewich's research focuses on stress, coping, emotion, and cognitive and behavioural responses in sports. She is particularly interested in self-compassion as a coping resource for athletes, exploring how promoting self-compassion can help athletes accept and accurately evaluate sport situations, reduce rumination and avoidance, and better pursue their goals and peak performance.
