South Africa has officially emerged as Africa’s leader in AI adoption, according to new Microsoft research, showing that more people and businesses in the country are embracing artificial intelligence tools faster than anywhere else on the continent. At the same time, the global AI race has intensified after a US jury ruled against Elon Musk in his high-profile lawsuit against OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT.
