This weekend, Johannesburg comes alive with the 27th Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 25 and 26 September. One of South Africa’s distinctive jazz voices, Dumza Maswana is known for his rich baritone and powerful storytelling, bringing together jazz, indigenous rhythms and spiritual influences. This year, he takes his 20-piece Umngqungqgo Orchestral Experience to the festival, as part of a line-up spread across four stages, including
the Mbira Stage.
