1. South Africa – Cuba Engagement
The National Writers Association of South Africa (NWASA), together
with DIRCO, will hold a high-level engagement with Cuba’s Ambassador
in Pretoria on Tuesday . The meeting aims to strengthen cultural and
diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
2. South Africa – Africa Month (Cape Town)
The Thabo Mbeki Foundation and Unisa will host the 16th Africa Day
activities in Cape Town from 20 to 25 May 2026. The week-long
programme will include dialogue, reflection, culture, and public
engagement.
3. Did You Know – Cuba Fact
Did you know Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean, covering about
109,884 square kilometres? It is made up of over 4,000 islands and cays,
including Isla de la Juventud, forming a unique archipelago.
