1. Tribute to Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson
Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. may have crossed into the ancestors
at 84, but his voice and legacy as a global freedom fighter — and Africa’s
son — continue to echo loudly. When Nelson Mandela walked out of
Victor Verster Prison in 1990, Jackson was among the first to embrace
him as a brother reunited.

2. International Women’s Day – Dr Miriam Makeba Reflection
As we commemorate, International Women’s Day which was yesterday,
we honour Dr Miriam Makeba, a woman whose stage was not just for
music — it was a frontline of the liberation struggle. She didn’t sing for the
fight; she fought through her song.

3. On This Day – 9 March 2015, Rhodes Must Fall
On this day in 2015, student leader Chumani Maxwele sparked a national
reckoning when he threw human waste at the Cecil John Rhodes statue
at UCT. His act forced the country to confront the enduring indignity faced
by Black communities and ignited the Rhodes Must Fall movement.
