What you need to know about China's COVID death toll

Authorities in China have reported nearly 60,000 COVID related deaths in the last month.

This comes as the World Health Organisation expressed concern about information out of the country up until now.

Previously, the nation had reported just over 5,000 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

In today’s deep dive, we look at the new numbers out of China and what they mean amid a departure from the strict zero-COVID policy.
