This is Prime Cuts! The best of The Colin Cowherd Podcast. First, Top Takes, including why Steve Nash had enough of Kyrie Irving’s nonsense with the Nets, why he’s confused by constant rumors about Sean McVay retiring from coaching, and why he rolls his eyes at media bellyaching over Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover.

Then, Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow on what went wrong in the rough Monday Night Football loss to the Browns, the similarities between last year and this year's Bengals, talking football with Peyton Manning, how his point guard style reflects his QB style, his plans for the Week 10 bye week, the mood in an NFL locker room at the trade deadline, and how his approach changes playing the Panthers on  short week without an injured Ja’Marr Chase.

Finally, Action Network's Chad Millman tells Colin if his NFL Week 9 picks are "sharp" or "square" for Chargers/Falcons, Vikings/Commanders, Packers/Lions, Dolphins/Bears, Ravens/Saints, Colts/Patriots, Raiders/Jags, and Seahawks/Cardinals.

Colin is joined by John Middlekauff, host of “3 and Out” on the Volume.

They start with Broncos thrilling come from behind win over the Chiefs and highlight the deficiencies in both Bo Nix and the Chiefs pass catchers (2:30). They react to the Cowboys blowing a late lead to the Gardner Minshew led Cardinals and debate whether the Cowboys should become sellers before the trade deadline (9:00).

They highlight Lamar Jackson constantly being injured and argue that the Ravens season is officially over and it might be time to move on from the former MVP (14:45). Colin proposes that the Vikings should try to trade for Kirk Cousins to replace Kyler Murray after suffering their first loss to the Lions (27:45), and that the Chargers should begin a firesale after starting 0-7 following their loss to the Rams(33:30).

Colin lauds Mike McCarthy for having the Steelers in first place with extremely limited options on offense for Aaron Rodgers (39:00), and believes Aaron Glenn’s time with the Jets is coming to an end after losing to the Raiders (49:00). They heap praise on Drake Maye for putting the Pats on his back in their win over the Dolphins (54:30).

Finally, they move to college football and start with USC upsetting Ohio State and agree that Lincoln Riley’s prepared statement was cringe (58:00) and that Indiana looks vulnerable after barely beating Minnesota (1:05:00)

Colin’s top takes of the week.

First, he’s joined by John MIddlekauff, host of “3 and Out” on the Volume.

They start with the Giants win over the Texans, and credit JJ McCarthy for playing well filling in for the G men (2:30) and react to the Bengals storming back in the second half to dominate the Ravens (14:30). They credit Browns GM Andrew Berry for hitting on draft picks to help them overcome DeShaun Watson’s contract and start 5-2 (23:30).

Finally, they move to college football and start with USC getting destroyed by Wisconsin and Colin wonders whether Lincoln Riley’s time is running out (56:30)
Then, Colin is joined by 2x Super Bowl champion and host of “The Manningcast”, Eli Manning.

They start with JJ McCarthy looking like an entirely different quarterback playing for the Giants (45:00), and discuss Eli’s first game as a pro when it felt like things started coming together (47:15). They react to John Harbaugh’s hard-nosed style of coaching in New York (49:00), and talk about what Fernando Mendoza can learn from the sideline while Kirk Cousins starts (51:00).

Finally, they discuss the Seahawks flummoxing the Chiefs and whether the Chiefs should just throw out that result as an anomaly (53:30), and why Ed Reed was the player Eli faced in person that was just so much better in person (45:45).
