The Man in the Arena: My Speech to the International Order of Teddy Roosevelt

View descriptionShare

What lessons does Theodore Roosevelt teach to conservatives today? He has many, but one of the most important, Charlie argues, is the importance of discomfort. Theodore Roosevelt was a weak boy, but grew into a man of intense physical exertion. If we want to be the victorious "man in the arena," Charlie says, then we must reject comfort and reject ease, and instead embrace the importance of effort, challenging ourselves, and making ourselves into the strongest version of ourselves.
