Tune in here to this Wednesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking about an alleged mid-air attack aboard an Israel-bound flight and the growing tensions surrounding Iran. He discusses reports that an Omani co-pilot allegedly attacked and stabbed the pilot during the flight, creating a terrifying situation that forced passengers and crew members to intervene. Brett compares the incident to the fears surrounding the September 11 attacks and emphasizes the danger posed when aircraft become targets. He also connects the incident to the ongoing investigation involving five individuals believed to be Iranian nationals who were allegedly attempting to cause damage involving a U.S. B-1 bomber.

We're joined by Michael Whatley, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, to talk about Roy Cooper’s record on taxes and rising costs and the response to Hurricane Helene. Whatley argues that Cooper’s policies as governor contributed to higher housing, electricity and health care costs across the state, while criticizing Cooper’s opposition to various tax cuts. Whatley also takes aim at Cooper’s handling of Hurricane Helene, claiming the former governor was absent before the storm and failed to provide adequate support for Western North Carolina in its aftermath.

He highlights the federal relief efforts and rebuilding projects that have taken place since the storm while praising the resilience of Western North Carolina communities. Whatley also discusses the possibility of debates with Cooper, saying he would welcome the opportunity to challenge his opponent on taxes, costs, criminal justice and the hurricane response.
