A recently announced nationwide food loss and waste reduction strategy involves four pillars which includes efforts by the Agriculture Department.  Jean Buzby of the Office of the Chief Economist explains the reasons behind USDA and federal efforts to reduce U.S. food loss and waste by fifty per cent by the year 2030.
