According to the National Sunflower Association, Crookston, MN grower Kevin Capistran says he finished harvesting his sunflowers on October 1st. He had no disease issues this year and due to the warmer weather had no moisture issues. Capistran said he had a higher test weight this year averaging 5-6 lbs. higher than normal.  His best field had a yield of 3,000 lbs. with an overall average of 2,500 lbs. across the farm.
