The Texans come out of the bye and head to Los Angeles, and Thursday's Texans All-Access sets up a Sunday that could start a run. Marc Vandermeer and John Harris welcome Hall of Fame sportswriter John McClain, who explains why he likes Houston against a Chargers team still searching for its first win. He also names the one problem area he sees year after year, and says what he'd like OC Nick Caley to lean on with QB C.J. Stroud.

The General also covers the Nov. 10 trade deadline, his NFL power pick, and K Ka'imi Fairbairn being named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October. In the questions-and-answers segment, Harris explains how new RB Emari Demercado could fit in, why WR Tank Dell looks like his old self, and how the hosts rank the five coaches up for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2027. That includes a Texans connection to Dan Reeves. The show closes with a Houston Methodist Minute on the mental side of returning from injury with Dr. Larry Balle, plus a preview of Friday's show with HC DeMeco Ryans and LB coach Bill Davis.

Fresh off the bye week, Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans joins Marc Vandermeer and John Harris in the Hyundai Texans Radio Studio to break down what the Texans learned about themselves before Sunday’s trip to SoFi Stadium to face the Los Angeles Chargers. Coach Ryans explains why he had his offensive coaches study the defense (and vice versa) in a brutally honest self-scout. He also covers how the Texans are rethinking the jumbo package and the back-to-basics plan to clean up tackling.

He also names TE Dalton Schultz as a future coach on his radar, shares lessons from Mike Shula at Alabama and Kyle Shanahan’s “whatever it takes” mindset, welcomes back DT Naquan Jones, and explains how he tunes out trade-deadline noise. Plus, he looks back on a bye-week reset with family, including his daughter’s first volleyball match, and remembers the Bessemer, Alabama teachers who shaped him.

The show also includes podium highlights on T Braden Smith, rookie C/G Keylan Rutledge, T Aireontae Ersery, DE Will Anderson Jr.’s leadership, and the loss of WR Jaylin Noel for the season.

The DeMeco Ryans Show is presented by Amegy Bank.
