JoAnn has been working 28 years in the Granite School District where she was more recently asked to help special needs students who are unable to communicate correctly. She's immersed herself in speech and "comes up with great ideas, and runs with all the initiative she needs to make sure those ideas are incorporated into the classroom with her kids."

KSL NewsRadio's Teacher Feature recognizes outstanding teachers in the Utah community. Each teacher is presented each week by a different KSL NewsRadio personality who talks about how  they make a difference in the lives of the children they teach. 

Each winning teacher is honored with a plaque from Zions Bank, an overnight stay at Anniversary Inn, a gift certificate for dinner at the beautiful Roof Restaurant at Temple Square and a pair of season tickets from Hale Centre Theater!

All winners are also invited to attend an end-of-year banquet at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in their honor. In addition, one lucky teacher will win the grand prize 2-year lease on a new car courtesy of Burt Brothers Tire and Service.
