In India, cricket is not just a sport, it’s an emotion. People are either glued to their television sets or are seen in a gully playing a match with their friends. But what if cricket wasn’t just about playing a game, but that taught you how to be a better at life?

Tata Trusts’ Kal Ka Classroom talks about their initiatives that work towards improving the Indian education system. In this episode, we learn about the ‘Life Through Cricket’ initiative that taught underprivileged children from Mumbai who barely attended school and didn’t care about their education, and made them confident, focused, and responsible young adults.

Ever since the pandemic, QR codes have become essential to our lives. From reading the menu at a restaurant to making online payments, everything can happen in just one scan. But, how can QR codes become a part of a child’s education? 

Tata Trusts’ Kal Ka Classroom talks about their initiatives that work towards improving the Indian education system. In this episode, we draw inspiration from Ranjitsinh Disale, a teacher who started putting QR codes in school textbooks and eventually won him the Global Teacher Prize in 2020.

How QR Codes Won a Teacher $1 Million

Today, a book can be bought with just a touch of a button. What’s more, it could be entirely read on a small device. Despite these technological advancements, there are children who cannot access books at all in India.

Tata Trusts’ Kal Ka Classroom talks about their initiatives that work towards improving the Indian education system. In this episode, we learn about the path-breaking work that the Parag Initiative has done to encourage building of local, community, school and personal libraries of children’s literature. In particular we look at how the district of Yadgir in Karnataka, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when children lost all contact with their schools, teachers and libraries, made literature 

accessible.
