Okay, We're not gonna go around the room and just have everybody be like this is who I think is gonna win. No, we don't have time for that. Yeah, it's gonna be very simple. Okay. I'm going to give you a definitive answer of who I think is going to win, and then you can agree or disagree.

We're going to start with New Female Artist of the Year nominees Megan Maroney, Priscilla Block, Morgan Wade, Haley Witters, Caitlin Smith. All right, this is who's gonna win. Priscilla Block you okay, Oh why do you want to know why? Because I think she's been on the scene longer and I think she's had more radio success than any of the other girls. Okay, Okay, now do you agree or disagree?

Because if you've never been nominated for New Male Artists of the Year, it doesn't matter how long you've been out. If you've never been nominated for it, you can be nominated. Remember, God, who was it not Eric Church? Oh my gosh, it's gonna there was a guy. Come on, come on, he's from Texas. He won New Male Artists of the Year.

So I was like, Okay, this guy, I still got a shot because I remember him winning. He gets up on stage and he goes man New Artists of the Year. I've been doing this for twenty years. Seriously, that's wild. But because he's never been dominated, he won.

Let's go, let's go new male This is what this is why this list is crazy to me. This year's list. I'm going to take you. I'm going to take you through these names from nineteen eighty nine.

Do you want to know the honest answer? Yeah, I think they were scraping to find new female artists of the years, and I think we have an abundance of new male artists, so they had more to pick from. And and some people will look at that list now and be like, I don't know who this person is, but they've had some type of success on a commercial level or independent level. I'm gonna say names that you're gonna know immediately eighty nine, Clint Black ninety Alan Jackson ninety one, Billy Den, Billy Dean, Tracy Lawrence in ninety two, John Michael Montgomery ninety three, ninety four, Tim McGraw, Brian White ninety five, Tray Sackins ninety six, Kenny Chesney in ninety seven, Mark Wills in ninety eight, Brad Paisley in ninety nine, Keith Urban, Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Jason aw Dean in two thousand and five, Rodney Atkins two thousand and six, just talked about Jack Ingram in two thousand and seven, Let's keep going, Jake Going, Luke Bryant in two thousand and nine, Eric Church in twenty ten, Brandley Gilbert's Chris Stapleton in twenty fifteen. He was another guy. Christapleton had been in the game for at least ten years.
Right, but as a songwriter, so that was his first line.
But he was in a group. What yeah he was in seriously, yeah, he's in a band. John Party twenty sixteen, Brett Young seventeen, Luke Combs twenty eighteen, Riley Green in twenty nineteen, Jimmy Allen in twenty twenty, Parker McCollum in twenty one, and then this year. So there's huge stars that have won this award, and some of them won him with like they already had four number ones, but now you go to this year's and you got guys that like I don't think Jackson Dean has ever had a number one Zach Bryan, I don't is he had a hit on the radio. I know he's I know he's huge, like on Spotify, like, I know he's he got a.

Ernest Billy's, Memmerman's and number one. So here's what I think for New Mail Arts of the Year. I don't know why we spent so much time on this one.

I think he's a lovable guy, and I think he appreciates what's happening to his career. So I think people see that and they want to root for him, and they're going to vote for him. And he's got great.
Songs he does. This is a hard one for me. I know, it's such a toss up.

Mind's like a toss up between three. But I'm gonna have to. I think it would be Nate Smith, but I'm gonna have to go with Bailey's im woman.

If you think about how they started. They started. There are a bunch of songwriters that got together and said, let's do a group. Let's be in a group. Did you know that? Yeah? They were all like this. They're all just chilling in town as songwriters. They're fantastic, So that.

Entertainer of the Year.

No, no, no, no, no, no, let's mail artists the year, Cane Brown, Luke Combs, Jordan Davis, Chris Tapleton, Morgan Wallen, oh Man, Morgan Wallan's gonna win this.

There's no other artist. I'm sorry, there's no other artist, really male artist, any genre that's done what Morgan Wallen has done. Not just in country music. I'm talking about all artists. When his album came out, his entire album was in the top fifty.
It was on the Yeah, like the charts on iTunes, Yeah.
You'd I don't have to go search on Spotify. I just want to top fifty songs in the United States of America. Every single Morgan Wallen song was on there.

I think Chris is in that camp of Brothers Osbourne where like he's just first of all, he's one of the best singers you'll ever hear sing. He annihilated the Super Bowl performance of the National Anthem. I mean that right there should make him win Male Artists of the Year personally. Yeah, but I still got more than one one, all right. Moving on Female Artists of the Year, Kelsey Ballerini, Brianda Lambert, Ashley McBride, Carly Pearce, Lanie Wilson. I can't believe that Carrie Underwood is.
Not on this list, I can't either. Is she on an entertainer? She is?

A I actually think I think Lannie Wilson's gonna win. Oh okay, because this is why all the other girls are great. By the way, we love everybody on these lists. So if we say, oh, I can't believe they're on there and this person's not, we're just talking a bit like we're just talking on a business level or like a voting level, not like we don't.

I think Lannie Wilson's gonna win because I got to interview her at the Grand Lobry right when she was on stage and I was hosting, and I had never really talking to you. I can't talk to that.

I've never really talking with her. I've never really chatted with her, like on just a close level or just I talked to her backstage, I talked to her in the park a lot, and then I talked her on stage, and she is one of the most genuine people that I've ever met. I think people love her in this town because she's so authentic, and I think she puts out good music, and I think she's very appreciative. And I think in this especially in today's world, thing goes a long way. So I think that the community, the country music community along with the fans, want her to be the next big star. So I think by voting for her helps accomplish that. So I think the country music community wants that to happen. So she's gonna win.
And she has what it takes to be She's already almost at that level.
Basically she was on Yellowstone. Yes, that's crazy.

No, I really was thinking that it was kind of like between Carly Peers, because I feel like she kind of has that following too, of like winning. But I'm gonna say, Leanie Wilson, I agree, okay, because I love her, like she is just so funny. She's like the full package. It's it doesn't love her.

So just to let people in behind the scenes on voting, there's gonna be sometimes when you see your favorite artists not on the list, and sometimes that's because they just don't have a huge label behind them, or if they do have a huge label behind them, their their votes end up getting split. And what I mean by that is like, let's pretend. Let's pretend you and I, right, we work for Sony, and Sony has an umbrella of three different labels like SO Colombia, Sony, RCA, whatever, so, and let's say we have under our umbrella because we own the label. We have Miranda Lambert on our label, Laney Wilson, and Luke Comps. That's that's who's on our label. Well, now we have an entire staff. Let's say we have a staff of one hundred people and they're all voting members of the ACMs. So we have one hundred people that we can say through an email, Hey, guys, real excited about having three of our acts nominated for Album of the Year. I really think Luke Combs should take this send well the president, if you and I are president and vice president of the label, and we send that out to our staff, we're gonna be like, oh, looks like we're voting for Luke Combs this year.
You know what I'm saying.
Yeah, So now let's go next a step further. That's just internally with just that label. Now, now let's say, well, John Party's on another label and they got a staff and he's the only one on the label, no competition, but their staff is only fifty people. Well, he's gonna get all fifty votes. But then the other labels, they're voting for their people, and the other labels are voting for their people, So then you have those little clusters of votes that you know you're gonna get. So now it's really up to like who did the most work, who went out and sat down with people in the ACMs, people on the board, free concerts here, who sat down in a conference room and played for five of the office people. That's how you end up garnering those extra votes that are outside of your network.
I mean, those things really matter all around. Package. If an artist comes in and they're just kind of like, eh, you know, not real, it doesn't really care, not that invested in you you're probably not going to.
Vote for them, and that's a lot. That's how the Grammys work too, especially the Grammys anyway, Like, see.

George Trae doesn't write his own I mean he ninety nine percent of his career he did not write his own songs. George Strait. Now he's starting to write a little bit because he started writing with his son Bubba and stuff like that. Jason doesn't write all of his songs. Jason doesn't. Al Dean doesn't write of his songs. He just is why there's you have the best songwriters in the world here. Why if you don't, if you're not really into it or you know, or you're like because it takes a long you just don't sit down and write a hit song. You gotta write like fifty fifty songs to get two good ones. So a lot of these guys that are making a ton of money on the road and have hits on the radio, they're like, I'll screw it. I'll just I mean, I'm gonna enjoy my life and let the best songwriters in the world write songs for me.

Yeah. So these guys, though, these guys are a little next level to me because their craft depends on what comes out of their brain. Because that's what makes them them. It makes them a different type of way, It makes them their artistry that much more deeper. No offense to anybody else artist songwriter the year, Luke comes, Ernest, Hardy, Miranda Lambert, Morgan Wallen. Now this is interesting to me, but.

It is actually I think that Hardy as a songwriter. Okay, that helps me answer that. I just help myself. I think it's going to be Hardy Okay. And this is you don't know why? Yes, what are you doing?

Okay, all right. So if you take people like Luke Combs, he writes all this stuff, right, who else has he written for Luke Combs? Yeah? What other songs? What other artists have cut Luke Comb's songs? So, oh, I'm cutting the song that Luke Combs wrote?

I'm asking? This is my point, That is the point I'm getting to. This is his own Miranda Lambert. Ah, can you send me all the songs that Miranda Lambert wrote? I want to cut those? Hey? Ernest is the closest one to Hardy, I think because there are outside like Morgan cuts Earnest songs, Morgan cuts Hardy songs, Hardy people. Hardy started out as a hit songwriter, just a hit songwriter. Ernest was kind of on the same wavelength. But Hardy, I think is having the most success as an artist songwriter mm hmm, because he writes all his own stuff, but he writes a lot for other people too, Like a lot of other artists, they go after like, hey, I want to write with Hardy for my album. Does that make sense?

A lot yeah, and he'll make time to do it, where I think like Luke and Morgan and Miranda, they could do that, but I think all they want to do is write for themselves.
Correct Because yeah, when I'm like putting together prep for artists, I do all the songwriters and I see Hardy like every artist we have in I'm like, there's Hardy again.
Yep, all right, it's gonna be Hardy. I'm locking it in.
Okay. You know, I was gonna say Morgan Wallen, but then I was looking up his album and I see a lot of Hardy and like Morgan probably co wrote half of the songs on.
So think about that. Hardy writes all his stuff, and he also writes half of Morgan Wallen stuff. And he also writes probably half of earnest stuff yep. And he also probably writes half of half the chart.
So okay, you know I'm gonna agree. I agree with that.

Whoa Jason Aldan, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Randa Lambert, Chris Stapleton carry underwood. Morgan Wallen to me, this is actually easier than I thought. Entertainer? That is everything that encompasses everything, your album, your shows.
I think now again, I'm thinking like a voter. I'm thinking like a voter. And they vote, and they vote, and they they think differently. The people that vote on the ACMs think a little bit different than you're common fan. What I'm just telling you?

This is why, this is why Carrie Underwood is gonna win Entertainer of the Year. Okay. She has gone above and beyond to make her set different than anybody else. She's turned into the closest thing to pink as you possibly can in country music. So she flies through the air, She's got tons of outfit changes. She dances okay, m hm, so a choreographed number. She has her own Vegas show. If you can't entertain you're not gonna have your own show in Vegas. If you're not a good entertainer, Vegas is not gonna drop a bunch of money overpay you to come to a residency in Vegas.
But how hard is it to get Morgan walling tickets compared to Carrie Underwood. I mean, people are pain.
I'm not talking about that. I'm telling you entertainment though. I'm telling you this is how the voters going. They are they they've been setting themselves up to win Entertainer of the Year since day one. I don't think Morgan's doing that. I think Morgan's going out there and he's got a huge fan base and he crushes it. Yes, and I think he's a and I think people love it. But I think he goes up. I think he goes out there and he just banks on that. I don't think he wins and dines the voters. I think Carrie Underwood does.

I'm just saying. I'm just saying so. And as much as I love my brother in law, Al Dean, he's one. I'm glad he's nominated, but he's one Entertainer of the decade for ray sums.

I mean if because you don't have anybody to hand him to if he starts having a ship fit. Yeah, planes pretty good. Last couple of times he's been takeoffs being kind of really what you put the plane in the air for God's sake?
Oh no, My parents used to let me just walk around.
Yeah, well they got rules now on planes.
Can't do that. I used to go up to the pilots and everything changed.
And then Thursday through Sunday we have a dark week next week for a shiners, So Thursday through Sunday We're going. My wife and I are going out to Napa to do some wine stuff with some friends.

I'll be running the half marathon next weekend.
Let's go rock and roll. One of the hardest marathons to do.
