Chuck, Sami and Abby are all back together!  They talk about a variety of topics including: the ACM Awards, Dolly and Garth being the hosts, CMA Fest, and more.  Chuck also admitted he finally got BROtox...but he knows nothing about it.  And he asks Sami and Abby their opinions on living next door to your parents.

You're a cheapo. It doesn't make a difference, though, it doesn't. You get what you pay for, especially in audio, like the headphones that I have may suck. So therefore Sammy and I are not going to wear headphones because we not well, because you accept suck. We as we as he. It doesn't coming from the Glasshouse Studios in Nashville to the sea. Now here's your host, Chuck Wicks. And now that's because thank you. Are you clapping because you're here? Sorry, you know we're here. We we are all here, We're all here. Last podcast was a tough one, well two podcasts ago, seeing way we talked about the shooting at the Covenant School, that was a tough one. And I've actually had a lot of people reach out and they appreciated the honesty that we you know, really yeah, they didn't because they could tell that we were just being like we weren't trying to push an agenda. We weren't trying to push what side we're on or what needs to happen next. It was more just a place of like real feelings, like how it's tragic and devastating and sucks. So now but now that we have Sammy here we can get the real scoop that we've been wanting on Old Dominion unless you signed a confidentiality thing. I mean, yeah, I signed a um. I mean there there is no inside scoop. Matthew Ramsey fracture dispelvis. So he's the lead singer of the band. It's hard to have Old Dominion shows without the lead singer of Old Dominion. So well, how was he jumping a four wheeler? He was on an ATV. Okay, I thought we were gonna get some I thought it was like, oh, he was racing his friend and yeah, yeah, I thought it was going to be like it was so close. It was a great race, and all of a sudden, boom, a deer came out of nowhere. Nothing, just an accident. Do we know what stated happened in Was it on tour? What it could have been? Was it on vacation? Like you know what I'm saying, like, because usually you go ATV and like you're like, oh, let's going like you go to Mexico, you go on ATV ride or a camel back ride. You know, I don't know those details, Okay, I just know that he is at home resting recovering and we are assessing this situation week by week and going from there. Does it affect you working since you technically go on a road with him, you're still working here home? Well, I mean, yeah, it affects me. My job is on the road and there's no such thing as the road, right, but they're still paying you. Yeah, all right, so it's kind of a vacation. Sure, yeah, it is. The thing is is that I like my job, so it's not really fun to sit at home while everybody else works. And I'm mean I've been able to dive into other projects that I wouldn't have been able to do, so I guess that's good. And the sun is finally coming out in Nashville, so I'll take that. But yeah, I mean I made it through all the cold destinations and we were about to get to the warm, fun one. So it's a bummer, but it is what it is. Super jealous when you went to Canada? Yeah that was fun. Did you get my message that text you or did I d about? I was like to the left where you are is where I asked Cassie to marry me, Like Louise. We went out there and it was like all snowed over, so you can like walk out all the way over across the lake and like up to the frozen waterfalls. And then we came back in and sat at the lounge bar if you will, has a beautiful view. So I definitely would recommend staying in Canmore over Bamf. I thought can Moore was way cooler. No shade to Bamf. I feel like it was fine, but the food there's not good. Ken Moore was a little more like hometowny for me, and I enjoyed that vibe. It'd be like in Franklin versus downtown Nashville. So it's like a twenty minute drive. What does can What does Camy? I don't think I've even heard of that. It's just like a suburb almost. It's like outside the National Park, so it's not within like the same limitations. Like I don't know what the word is, but it's like a twenty minute drive from very beautiful drive. The mountains there are like overwhelming. I don't know how to explain it, but it's just like a three sixty view of just I mean, I've seen mountains in my life, but none like that. It was beautiful, you know, what it seemed like to me. It's like, because you've got if you got there the Rockies, you got it. Like we just want to tell your ride, which is like my bracken Ridge all that stuff, right and you know, flying to Denver and that good stuff. So those Rockies, I believe, like you're already staying. You're already like at nine thousand feet, So a fourteen thousand foot to sixteen thousand foot mountain only to your eye looks like it's four to six thousand feet tall where the Rockies where you were your base is. We're so at fourteen thousand foot mountain looks like it's maybe twelve thousand feet. I think that's what the difference is. Maybe I don't know. I mean, I don't know what my elevation was where I was staying. Like that makes sense. Yeah, it was beautiful. I would highly recommend. I feel like I would love to go back there in the summer and see the difference because they have like a lot of hiking trails and stuff that obviously we couldn't really do because I'm not a wilderness explorer. So I'd like to go back when the temperatures are a little warmer. And easier to walk through. Where did they play in banf Was there like an arena? We had shows in Calgary and then after that we went to like Winnipeg or something. But we had five days off, so some of the crew and band went home. They came back to Nashville for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I just decided to stay out with Kelsey is the assistant tour manager, and she's become one of my good friends. Now she's the only other woman on the road, so we'd like to stick together. But back in rehearsals in December, we decided we saw the schedule and we're like, you know, we've never been why not just stay out there for the four days in between instead of traveling across the border back to Nashville to travel back over the border. So we just stayed out there and got a Airbnb. And then by the time we ended up staying there, the amount of people who had joined us on tour was like, I think twelve, So twelve other people decided to do that, so we had to get a nice little group. All right, how do we feel about the CMT Awards. Let's talk about that. I didn't watch it. If I'm being honest, Okay, I mean, but there's a lot of pushback from a lot of people how they're pushing. Like Kelsey Ballerine. He had all the drag queens out there doing her performance, and then it was odd because then she'd made a statement that was kind of the other way about the shooting, and so it was like a very up and down. People were calling it the Woke Awards. Sorry, No I heard that. Yeah, No, I've heard the word woke a lot lately. So how do we I mean, we do we want to talk about that? Or is that something we want to stay away from? Is it? Do we really want to talk about that? I don't know. I mean we talk about everything here. So I had not under educated because I didn't watch them, So I don't know what I have to contribute to the conversation. All right, we'll stay away from it then, Babby, I'm good staying away. Do you want to talk about wokeness? You go for it? No, I mean you know what they say, you know? No, I mean, I just I just read you know, I'm just reading you know, you go you go woke? You bro, That's just what I read. This is what I read. Is not my my feelings, but and then it doesn't matter. We won't talk about it. Then, all right, how about Garth and Tricia? What about them? Guys? Are hosting? The means Garth and Dolly? I was like, yeah, they're married and they divorced. What happened? I missed that too. We could have We should have let that be, Like, how about Garth and Trisia getting divorced? Oh, we do not need to be the story. Don't do that. We won't do that. It's a terrible rumors. This is kidding. Uh No, Garth than Dolly. We kind of touched on it. But I always like to get Sammy's opinion on this stuff because she's a huge, huge Dolly fan. I am. I'm excited. I mean, I think Dolly's transcended however many generations now and she's still relevant. Not many people can say that. So I feel like, didn't she host something recently, like relatively recently or did I make that up? Wasn't she part of something with like Reba? I feel like she's a Christmas special right? Maybe I don't know, but I know that Garth hasn't really hosted anything. I don't think he's ever hosted anything. Really, yeah, nothing awards. He's had a thirty year career and he's never hosted it. I don't think he's ever hosted anything. Wow, he must not be that funny, That's what I'm saying or dying, I'm kidding. I'm sure he. I feel like he's a great public speaker and like a great entertainer, so I feel like he'll draw the audience in. I'm sure him and Dolly are going to have a great dynamic because I mean, she's been around forever, he's been around forever, so they have to know each other. They've had to have cross paths at some point. Right, have they ever done a song together? Abby? I feel like if, if any, I feel like they are, they're going to know. I was gonna say, maybe this is setting them up for that, this is the moment you think that's going to be the moment. I feel like, Right, I mean it good. I guess we're gonna trying to But yeah, I don't see anything on them together, on them together, but yeah, you might be right. I was looking at this picture of them. If they don't do an original song together, I bet you they do, like a medley that'd be good like Islands in the stream. Kenny Rogers did debt re member medley of duets You mean, yeah, medley of duets together. That's what I think. Is it weird that they're not aren't they doing the ACMs? They did the CMTS in Austin. The ACMs are in Frisco. Yeah, why are they all in Texas? No offense, Frisco, Texas. That's where they are at the Star. It's like forty minutes from my parents' house. Well, that's so cool. The Star war Way. Where is it is that? Where is that where it's a Cowboys play? No, they play it. They play in Arlington at the AT and T Stadium, the Stars in First Goo and it's just another I mean, I don't think any no professional sports teams play there. But it's just like a building that they host, like like a rodeo place. Uh No, I mean it's like a bridgetone without the Preds. Damn because the Dallas Stars play at the American Airline Center, which is in a completely different part of Dallas area. Well, okay, the ACMs used to be in Vegas right every year, and then I thought they only switched it to Texas. They did it one year, yeah, where the Dallas Cowboys played. All right, yes, I thought that was the only thing, and then they were going to go back to Vegas, right but now they're But now they're not. I don't know. I don't know the reasoning. I haven't heard any Like it's Texas. I want if Texas is paying money for them to have it, I just want to go to Vegas like in the last year. See, I wanted to come, but I want the I think the ACMs should be here in Nashville. They're gonna here, I know, but that's what I'm saying. They if CMA's are here, why is a CMS in Texas? I don't know if there's a reason. There should be a reason if they're going to be in Texas, let's call up the ACMs right now. Hey, you know him? What's his name? We had a Daniel, right? Is it Daniel dam damon? Shit? Isn't he your friend? O? My friend? Yeah? No, that's the first time I met him. Where did that? Remember? We had him on and we talked. We that was right before that was when they banned Morgan Wallen And I said, do you think you're gonna have him back and of course like the next no, two years later he was like the most nominated or one or whatever. I don't know, but he wasn't the CMT Awards M M. Morgan wasn't interesting. No, there wasn't a lot of people there. Yeah. I felt like the CMT Awards did not have a lot of people there. Definitely not. So there's that anyway back to the ACMs, Well, the ACMs need to come to what's my call it. I don't think they ever will do you to Nashville. Yeah, no, because the CMA's are here. Yeah, but CMT Awards are here too. Yeah. But CMT is a completely different wheelhouse. Like cmas and ACMs have a lot of similar structure in the fact that people in the industry vote, CMTS is a completely different thing because it's all fan base voting. So I feel like the setup of it is different, the people involved are different. Where ACMs and cmas are predominantly industry people. Yes, it's open to the public for them to come view, but the like voting structure, I feel like, if you had it, I feel like at that point it's like just have one award show, Like, what's a difference then I will say Nashville is a different city, and it's ever it's different now more than it's ever been different than before. That makes sense. For instance, last Saturday night after a Shiner show, I went to walk out the front door of my theater and I could not because the police had the entire street barricaded because there was a naked man running up and down the street jumping on all the cars. I have seen an extreme amount of uptick of I don't even know what you would call it on the streets. I don't live that far from downtown, and the amount of people that just like walk into the middle of the road without any it's a different vibe. Bird of idea that there's like cars driving is just it's growing by the day, and my patience is not. So I will say, I will say we are on a peaceful street, like we're in the theater district, so we're That was like a shocking thing to see. Right across the street from us is one of the oldest Walgreens in America that has to close at seven pm because of crime. Okay, well, I'm trying to get people to come to my So do they close a seven Yes? Really yeah, they had problems during the pandemic or something. I don't know what the extent of it is, but they had to start closing early. They close it at seven pm. Oh well, it's changing now. So right next to the Walgreens is going to be a high end shopping center. So all like you're Louis Vitan's and down the alleyway. Yes, wait, I felt like the arcade. Yeah, it used to be that. Yeah, someone a big business place group bought it, and now they're turning into this like luxury shopping. That makes me sad. I could be wrong, but I think it sets the rumor. It's a very strong rumor. Yeah, no, I'm sure that's what's happening. Look around. Look how many cranes there are in this town. I know, but it makes me sad because if you walk down that alley right now, it's like mom and pop, like dry cleaning and shoe shining in a record store and like a thrifting store, and I just feel like things that have been in people's families for years. I know it's not nice and shiny down there, for sure, but it's I don't know, it has some culture. It does. I don't think it's going to change too much of the Maybe they're adding stores more than like taking out and putting new ones in. Well, there's yeah, there's a lot of empty store space in there, because I just feel like brick and mortar is way different now, especially like that's not a very easy place to find, Like if you're not from Nashville, or even if you are from Nashville, feel like, I'll people don't know that that exists. I didn't. I didn't really know too much about the arcade or that area, right, and I've lived here for twenty two years. Oh, I bought eight So Um I told you? I did? I tell you I did bro talks. No, No, you told us you're thinking about it? Yeah? So I did it? Where I did it? Around my eyes, in my forehead. How do you feel? I feel? I feel refreshed. Good for you, d flex? What is it? Well? Raise your eyebrows. I got like your face muscles, I got the let your brows in your forehead? Um, I still, when did you get it done? Oh? It's not bad. When did you get it done? Lighting head didn't work? When did you get it done? A few weeks ago? A few weeks ago? Yeah? But I got a very little bit. I was gonna say how many units? Oh, I like to give me in an example like twenty twenty in between my eyes. I think it was less than that. It was like it was not a lot, Like what was your grand total you spend? I'll tell you how many units you got? Oh really, yeah, find out because I think I didn't want to do it, and Cassie was here. She was come, just do it, just try it. So I go, there, your face is still moving, so I feel like you did the right amount. Okay, good, Yeah, I was told. I was like, well, I sat down on the chair and I felt like I was interrogated because I had three different women, including my wife, so four three different and one very familiar woman to me, come up, look at my face, expect it, and they're like, oh yeah, oh yeah, we're gonna need to do this, and um it looks like oh yeah, and we're gonna do this. You need to do this because it's really gonna bring out all the dark spots. I told him. I said, I feel bullied. You were bullied. I said, I don't like what's happening right now. Literally, I go, I feel like you guys are being really mean to me. So I said, give me it all, make it all go away. Yeah, you fuckers just go. You gotta die. I can't tell. I was going to say, I'm like, your face is still moving. Well, yeah, but sometimes people don't know that it takes like a week to kick in. So I thought maybe if you didn't last week, you just didn't know it's been a few weeks. Yeah, you should be frozen by now. Well, I'm just saying about that around the eyes. I think I can see it there. Yeah, yeah, no, I can tell. I can tell because I look in my face all the time. Oh, we know, Sammy. Are you mad at me? Why would you even ask that question? Because I know Sammy either she's mad at me, or it's like with this one of them days where she doesn't like me, or like where she has a lot on her mind. I am not mad at you that subsided weeks ago. I'm just now it's just like an over overage of it. I'm here. Oh, she's just showing up. I get it all right. Anyway, keep going with the boat. Did love Country talk to Jess chuck Um? Well, we're talking about talks. I want to know how many Well, yeah, how much you spent, then we could tell you how many units you got? It was under twenty I just need I'll ask my under twenty dollars. No, under twenty units, abby, come on, no, not twenty dollars. Your better than I know. Would you call it? Wait? What did you call it? CCS? Units? Units? Ccs are like would you put in your titty? No, that will never happen. How many units did I get in my How do you not know how many units you got? I trusted the my wife and your bully team. Yeah, I trusted the bullies. I guess that's fair. And they zapped. I got this little thing right here, and they zapped it. It's like a like a do you see It's like like a like sun spot. So there's zapp in that. Look at you. That's why I went. I went to get that zapped. Yea. And then they're like, oh, I need to do more. We need to do all this stuff to you. But now now I'm in, I feel like that should be illegal because you have no idea, Like if someone goes in for something I cannot stand when. I mean, I guess they are doctors or injectors. Yeah, and they're like, oh, maybe we should do this. Have you ever noticed that this? If you ever, like, don't point out people's falls on their face that they might not have noticed, Like you have what kind of insecurity you're opening up for them? Yeah, it's like I didn't. I feel like that should be illegal. Yeah, like just focus on what I asked for, right, I mean, unless it's kind of like a domino effector it's like, hey, I need to do this, so this doesn't, you know, turn out bad. I mean I understand that, but like, don't be like, oh well you definitely need more of this, Like, dude, I don't need anything. My face is fine. I'm like, did I ask you? Yeah? Excuse me. I understand that it's like their day to day though, and they're probably not trying to make you feel bad, but I feel like they should watch. Cassie was right there. She's like, no, no, no, we're just trying to I'm like, well this is not this isn't work for me, but it made me. Now I'm all in. Now I invested in some serum, Like but you put on your face at night, so I hydrate your face. Yeah, no, I know what serium is. You should have known about that twenty two years ago when you moved to Nashville. Oh, she said, she said, I have no idea, probably like twelve units. It was not a lot. Yeah, but I'm in. I think I'm gonna continue to do it. I think you should do whatever makes you happy. Do you think, Well, I'm four, I'm gonna be forty four in June. So if I do it as a preventive yeah, by the time in fifty, I won't look as bad as probably. But I will never I this is what I'll promise you guys. I will never do it too much. I will never go full Kenny Rogers. He went, he went full on Wayne Newton? Have you seen Wayne in? Or who else? Do we think? I wish there's a lot of country artists that get botox that we don't. No get botox like big artists, which is what you want. You don't want it. You don't want people. Yeah, you want people just to be like, oh man, they take care of their skin. Yeah, they're like, oh that's crazy, they're forty five, that's crazy. Who do you think? Who do you think gets botox? I'm almost positive Keith Urban's got to get botox. I don't know that man's got great skin, even on his chest, So I feel like maybe he is just naturally gifted. Yeah, Like, have you ever seen him wear a low V cut shirt? I'm like, you have not one poor on your body. It's I'm stressed about it. I mean, I'm impressed, but I'm like, how do you do that? He's a good looking. But you know what, when you're rich and you have expendable income to spend on your upkeep of your appearance, Like, yeah, it does add up, it does help. Well, makes sense. He may I'm by the way, we don't have this confirmed, but he's Nicole Kimm is his wife, clearly. You know she's in the mix. You know she's got great skin. Talk about a great skin. Oh yeah, yeah, she paid for that, That's what I'm saying. But she never knows. She doesn't tanke like she's got. She doesn't tan. She never tanned. She always puts she did a whole article on it. That's why she's always Have you ever seen Nicole Kim and tan never? I wasn't really talking about a tan, but I'm saying she stays out of the sun. Sure, yeah, that definitely helps. Sudden damages that's why I got the spot on my eye. Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm I'm sure I have severe sun damage and it will just only rear its head more as I get older. But it is what it is. Did you know you can get botox and your armpits so you don't sweat? Yes? I didn't know that. Yeah almost, I know that. Scared Yeah I almost did it when I was torn a lot because I would I was wearing in the very beginning of my career. I would wear button down shirts on stage, like shirts so when I would sweat, especially if they're gray. Oh my god, it looks horrible. I would never wear gray. Wow, I learned my lessons. I learned my lesson. It looked like I jumped in a pool with just my arms. How did he stay dry? Everywhere else? That meat and great line must have been I change shirts smelling. I changed just shirts. Come for the hug you want? You want to know when the worst meat and greet lines are CMA fest. It's hot, everybody's sweating. Everybody's sweating. So if you're not a sweater, well, the person you're gonna meet, they're gonna be sweating, and you know they want to come in hot, they want to come in tight, they want to come in for they want to come in for hugs, kisses, stuff. Yeah, they're from all they've never done this type of thing, a lot of them. I mean, they come from all over to come to CMA Fest, That's true. So they're intense fans. The one got like two or months until right June, the beginning of June here June. I missed last year's and then the last three years before that were canceled. So I feel like I haven't really been a part of CMAF since twenty nineteen. I'll be my first one back. That's a long time, it is. It's four years. Yeah, but it doesn't How does that? How did that happen? I feel like twenty nineteen was like yesterday and then you sudn't think about it. I was really four years ago. Yeah, it hurts my brazy how long ago? When was? When was the beginning of COVID twenty? Literally three years ago? This past month, twenty twenty, Friday March thirteenth, was the last time I ever went to work in a building truly, because then I worked from home. Then I lost my job, and then I started touring so I haven't had an office since Friday, March thirteenth. That's fun. That's a good place to be though, because a lot of people go into office building there like I don't want to be here. Yeah, that's true, very true. Yeah, I mean yeah, it's a no for me. Dog. I like to live in outside of the regular path life. I'll stick with that. What do you think is what's next? If if you're done with let's say you're old done after this tour of the Old Dominion, do you want to go back on another tour? M No, I mean I think I'm gonna stick with Old Dominion. I'm staying this now, but obviously everything changes that like the drop of a hat. It already has. And I've only been with them for three months, but my goal was to stay with them for about three years. I just feel like I'll be thirty five by then I will have had that's like extensive touring experience. Yes it's not twenty years like some of these guys have been doing it, but I feel like three years is a nice I don't know, a nice goal for me to shoot for at this point. If something comes up before then, so be it. If something makes me stay longer than three, so be it like I'm not stuck on that. I just feel like I kind of shot for that going into it. So we'll see. I don't know what my next step is going to be. I think about it all the time. But who knows. I don't know. Life is weird. You never know where you're gonna be. Yeah, who knows. I hate that question where do you see yourself in five years? I have no idea. I don't even know where I see myself in five days. Well, I feel like it also took a different like turn for me when like we were just saying, twenty nineteen was four years ago. So if you would ask me in twenty nineen, where do you see you seven five years, it wouldn't have been like fucking cooped up in my house for a year and a half because someone need a bath. We need those years back. I actually identify as a thirty year old because I missed two years during COVID, So like you can't prove like what people are going to check my birth certificate. No, I could lie I'm thirty, not thirty two. I actually think you look about twenty eight. I get that a lot of people When I say I'm thirty two tell me that, They're like, I thought you were twenty seven. I'm like, you know what, that's a great age to think because I feel like if it's any younger than that, it's like I'm not a child. They're like, oh, you look thirty seven, and it's like, whohoa, whoa, I got five years to get up. Yeah, twenty seven, I'll take twenty seven. That was a good time. That's when I moved to Nashville. I think I think you look good. It was twenty six. I think again, time is fake idea time you look good too? How are you waiting for that? How old are you? Twenty seven, twenty five, twenty four? Really, I would never go back to twenty four. Would you go back to twenty four? It's not no age, no, no, no, no, he doesn't know my age, I would say. I mean, you've only been on his podcast for three years seven, you know we're literally the same age. Yeah, but a month apart, less than a month apart. And I said you look twenty eight, and I think you look twenty seven. Okay, I thought you were guessing. I think you were and you didn't know. It's fine. Good job when our birthday's chuck. Oh, the only aside, I don't know that. It's a hard No. You have to know the month happen, month of hers? Is it? What? No? I don't know. Is your birthday June twenty year, forty four years ago? No, I asked you a question. Is it June twenty? Yes? Yeah, you see how that works. It's called friendship. No. Well, at hantel you a little secret about me on birthdays. I'm horrible at birthdays. So I this is a horrible thing to admit too. I get my brother's birthday wrong every year. You have one brother, China. I'm sure that makes him feel really good. He well, it's now at this point he's just accepted it. Yes, yeah, yes, I mean you gotta just reevaluate your expectations. Do you know your wife's birthday? Yes, March nineteenth? Okay, at least you got that one. That's you know your son's birthday? Yes, twelve four Okay, he's like, that's my past. Good to my phone that's yes, twenty yeah, oh twenty twenty, twenty twenty. Right in the middle of the bid, COVID got it. I didn't understand, and they wait, they freaking made her wear a mask while she was giving birth. Who that's a cardio workout? That wasn't me? Pissed off and I said, take your fucking mask off. She did. That's I feel like if she didn't take her mask off, or she did take her mask off, she was gonna give birth either way. It's not like you can stop that. It's gonna happen whether you're ready or not. That's what. What a weird time? What a weird time? Like everybody's wearing a mask. It's just wild to me. I still see people driving around with masks. One It's like, what are you doing? I saw a lady with a mask on today at Target with a hose coming out of it. Oh no, yeah, are you sure that's not like an oxygen thing? Like she's like she couldn't. I'm sorry, sir, that's a disease. It was a it was a mask, yeah, And she had a hose, like a black hose coming out of it that just went out, wasn't connected anything, so like a straw basically, yes, a very long innovative straw. I'll give her that. Maybe that's how she drinks. It's probably hooked up to a machine in her car and she just had to get out right. She was walking around and Target, No, she worked there. Actually, Wow, this story is taken three different times. I don't know that I believe any of it. Now. She did have a name tag, though, I don't know. I feel like, Yeah, there's a lot of people wearing masks lately. I've noticed it a lot more, like everywhere I go does it? And I'm like, should I be wearing one? Even though I already had COVID like a month ago. So it's because they're in denial. Did you really have it just a month ago? Yes, like it's still I forgot it's still a thing. And I was like, oh, I guess I'll take a test, and it was It's almost like they were just set up to come out positive. I feel fine. Yeah, how's that the difference between a cold and the flu? Like how does the test honestly know? Like what if you have something a different virus? I've always wondered that how it can know it's COVID. I don't know. Just when's your birthday? Sammy August twenty second? Why did you guys say that? Like I should have known it, like right off the top of the back because I know your birthday. No, you should at least know them. You should know the month. You should you don't have to know the date, but you should know the month, and that we're about the same age, like we always talk about. She's like, it's my birthday. I'm like, it's mine too. Yeah, like less, we're like three weeks apart. August twenty second. I don't know my best friend's birthday, Taylor, you met him. I don't know that. You shouldst loud. This doesn't make you look any better my friend. I'm horrible at birthdays. That's one phone. That's one thing. I'm horrible at his birthdays. Okay, more than that guy. Okay, all right here, you guys can boli me too. Fine, let's pretend we're I'm getting my talks. Hit me with it. Okay, Well, the botox didn't work. You're bad at birthdays. I don't know what else that was mean? What you said? Bully you you're being serious. You guys are mean today. My wife was mean to me this morning too. I have not said one mean thing to you. I was kidding. You don't have to h what else you guys want to you're the one that just said go ahead and I did, and this got offended. I don't no, I'm not offended. I don't get offended. He's gonna go woman, cry about it. I know it looks really sad Am, I good. Probably the botox. It's because I can't move my face. You don't know if I'm sad or happy. No, it's moving. Oh that's right, it didn't work. I want to say. It was like it was like sixteen or something interesting. Is that an interesting number? Yeah, just because they had three areas well, like you had your forehead and then you had each eye, so that's three areas. Yeah, And they did a little bit right here, five four areas. I don't know were you there when this was happening, Like, how do you not have any internet area? This? To me, this is the same as this. No, here as different muscles being used than up at the top of your four. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not a I'm not a facial muscle guy. So if you divide sixteen by four, that's four units in each area and that's not very much. Oh see, I don't know that that. I don't know yeah, that's what I mean, Like they do total units, so you definitely four in this eye? Four here? Okay, that don't makes sense. All right, Well I'm done. Your nurses or whoever did that explain. When I go back next time, I'm gonna film it and then you guys can hear them how mean they are to me, and then you can know how many ccs no units units are going inside my head. Maybe that's what's wrong with me, man, that's why I can't remember anything. Maybe it numbed my brain. I'm gonna get botox after this conversation. If that's the fact I'm going. I mean, let me call my girl kim see if she's available tonight. Yeah, can she come here right now? She can? She's a ting injector she comes to my house or yes you really? Yeah? Oh she's really. I don't even know how I met her. But I haven't partake partaked is that a word? Partaken? Partake partaked um in those activities in like over a year, so oh I am. Yeah, I'm kind of on the ounce. I'm trying to go like oh natural, you know, I'm trying to change my mind eventually one day. But I've got full function of my face. Now, I got it in my jaw. When you do that, you don't have wrinkles. I know, you know, I all you have done. Well, there's no wrinkles. Maybe what are you gonna do? I have a liar, have a lot. What what am I gonna do? I said, your jaw? Yeah, I saw I got him in my jaw. Why like the massater muscle that, like Clint makes you clinch because I am constantly like grinding my teeth at night. Oh so it stopped you from grinding your teeth. Yeah, well that's good. It works like TMJ. Did you see where Luke Combs added a freaking stadium date in Nashville? Yeah, this weekend? That's crazy? Are you going apps? Which day you're going? Saturday? Did you? Yeah? Well are you part of like the media group or whatever? Yeah? So I think I don't know. I'm just winging it. I went. I went to Luke Hombs in Indie last weekend. Um, and I saw Kane Brown for the first time. On Friday of that weekend. I had a back to back show weekend. It was that's where I saw you. Yeah, it was Yeah, that was a fun little like pre hang that. I thought that was nice. They gave out the vinyls and everything like that. Kane was there for like four seconds. I had not I have not seen him in since, I mean over a year, so it was good to see him. And again, like I worked for him for multiple years and never got the chance to go to a show because it was all confuzzled with the pandemic. So it was nice to see a show. Great show. By the way, I was pleasantly surprised, like super entertaining. Did you hear that otherwise from anybody? What? Like, well you when you were pleasantly surprised, did you hear that he was boring or anything? Or did? No? No, I just didn't know what to expect, I guess, like I feel like I didn't know. I guess since I knew him personally, I didn't know what kind of show he would put on because I had never seen him as a performer. I've only seen the only time. He doesn't perform at award shows, you know what I mean? Like maybe I think he did at the CMTS with his wife. But again, n I said, I'm doing wortful, so that's on me. But like you know, I'd never really seen Kane perform other than like in music videos, so it was my first time seeing him live. And my good friend Jimmy plays, He's his band lead, so I got to see Jimmy play and I'd never seen Jimmy play live. So it was just a good first and I had a lot of fun and got to see a lot of people in the industry that I haven't seen in ah UM and then went to bed way too late. After I went to Robert's Western World and took tequila shots at tonight, got up at eight am and drove to Indy sal Luke Combs did it all over again in the in the pit there, and drove back the next day. So there's been some silver linings to being off the road. I guess I can't get away from live music, but I've had some fun. So I think I'm gonna Oh my boss is calling. Oh, So i think I'm gonna try and go again, is what I'm saying. In Nashville UM on the fifteenth. So I will see you there, Okay, I'll text you it sounds good. It's this weekend. I won't be there, but I'll be thinking about you, guys. We will be drinking one too many? Do you want to take your call? Is it, Matthew Ramsey. Yeah, I'm not gonna answer that call on air, so I'm just gonna it is. Yes, I'm not gonna answer it. I'm I won't wait until the end of the podcast. Well we I'm the tour manager is also in my ball as well. Like the band is my boss, the tour manager is my boss. I feel like anybody who's above me I report too, and I consider them a variation of my boss. So I'm at the lowest man on the totem pole of the production office and I just, you know, I act like it. Like that he called you says a lot about you. I mean, things are just rapidly changing. So we're also trying to set up how we're going to adjust things, and it's just kind of every Monday we reevaluate and adjust from there. All right, I have a couple of questions for you guys, because it needs your help and I feel like listeners can relate to this. My parents want to move to Nashville, Tennessee. Okay, so they have been looking for houses in places, but I had mentioned to them, now you know that, so my inlaws live at the front of our property, but if there's a bunch of woods in between us, so you can't really see the house. I had mentioned to them somewhat kiddingly but not I was like, oh, we want to build a big barn on the property. What if we built a big party barn and on the back side of it we put that's where you guys live. You can put your like a house attached. So they essentially they would live like with us, but not really. They would live on our literally on our property. So you have the inlaws in the front and your parents in the back. That's right. So that's a fun little family compound. That's what I think. I think that'd be great, and you need all the help you can get with Tucker like it takes a village. Not getting into too much though, because a lot of people that's a lot. That's a lot of it is a lot, but everybody has their own space. It's not like you're in the same house. That's true. I think how many people around the world live multiple generations within one home. A home that's like the size of your master bedroom. By the way, this office, this office. Yeah, so I don't know. I think you guys have a close family as is. It's not like you guys aren't spending a lot of time together already. How's your brother feel about that? Because don't your parents live closer to your brother now live in the same development, right, So is he gonna be sad? Or is your brother going to be the one that's on the property to your right now? That is actually I mean, I don't have a problem a problem with that ei there, but he's he'll never they'll never leave Florida. There, leave Florida. What is happening in your building room? I'm not sure o. Um no, I think that's a good idea. Obviously that's not my decision. But I think someone is committing a robbery in your building right now? What is happening? It's interesting, right, you're like very calm for something that sounds chaotic. I think it sounds like they're rolling something. It's like a case, right. I don't know if they can hear it through the speaker, but um, yeah, so I support it all right, Abby, Um that's a lot. But you know, they're your relationship with them, you know whether it's gonna be like are they the type that'll just like always like, knock on the door, No, that's my in laws. My in laws will walk right through the front door. I love it. I mean I personally love it. I just wanted to know what other people thought, because you know, some people be like, oh, man, you're gonna have both sets appearance. Yeah, see that's me that thinks it's but hey, you know that's cool though, And so my parents will be like they'll be so they'll be like, well, we didn't want to come over because weren't sure. And I'm like, well we're here. You could walk five steps. Yeah. But so they'll they're they'll be like the opposite. They'll call still and be like, what are you guys doing? So you just pull the drive. Well, they'll be that type where my in laws will just show up. Let's be like, they'll roll right in. The best thing about that is that they'll get on the lawnmower and start the grass. That's Barry all day. That doesn't surprise me. Barry he left the Easter party early. We're like, we're Barry going Barry and Vivian. Vivian, They're like, oh, Dave wanted They've been a long day, came home, had the whole, the whole, uh grass what. He probably needed some decompressing after being around all those humans and children, dude, So I don't blame them. A lot of children have started to find um weird moments where I, for example, like how Barry probably enjoys mowing the lawn and it's just like his time to himself. I have found myself more and more having moments like that around my own home, and I'm just like, God, is this getting older? Is this getting old? Like when I leave here, I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna power wash my back porch and like get everything on my patio set up for spring and summer. And I'm like geeked about it. That is so fun. Yeah yeah, but like twenty year old Sammy hates that, Like what, how am I excited about that? I'm like, oh, gonna be so good. I'm gonna get new plants, I'm gonna clean off that one table, and I'm gonna get a little something sum over there. I think I'm gonna get new lights. It's because it's your space, yeah, and it's like a great space and I want to be able to use it. And now, like I said, finally the Sun's coming out in Nashville. It's like I could work on a tan. I got nothing else to do for the foreseeable future until we can get these pelvis is healed. I call this time off my PHW Pelvic Health Watch. So I've been checking in on my coworkers of how's your PHW going. We'll look out how long does it take? Eight to twelve weeks depending on the fracture. Oh gosh, but it's individual and it that's like a full heel. I like I said, I don't it's a week by week case and I don't know enough about it to speak about it. It's also no one's business, so I'm not gonna talk about it anymore. Oh, with a broken pelvis, you cannot walk, sit, or move well without pain. Well? Is uh when people is that? That? Do people break their pelvis? Don't they break their pelvis bone a lot Like a lot of women when they're given birth. Um, I mean, yeah, your pelvis can be or is that your coxix or whatever coxix coxix? Yeah, I mean they're all part of the baby making extravaganza or baby birthday. Um, so there's definitely a lot of injury and yeah, none of it sounds really honestly. M hm oh well yeah, good um good topic. Next, Sorry, well I got I don't have any country news, so yeah, I mean, I don't know what to tell you. I feel like there's not much. I feel like there's nothing going on, no major news. David just a Jordan Davis just announced to show at the Sundiphitheater. Oh oh, I did see that. I heard it on the radio literally four times on both A Big nine eight and one h three three two and from the gym. I was like, is they or must not be any other news because that's all they've been talking about. I was like, damn, both country radio stations in Nashville talking about Jordan Davis. It's like September, Yes, the first weekend of September. I think, get ahead of it. I guess yeah, I'm plenty of time to sell tickets. Is it part of a tour? Is it just like a one off? I don't even know. I don't know. I think a tour. Well, I can't be wrong. I can't keep up. You're telling me I cannot keep up with everything. Used to be such a good country music fan and like know a little bit about everything and I feel like the farther I've gotten into my career, the more specific it's become. Like I started out in radio that's like broad there's a bunch of artists, a bunch of everything, record labels and everything. Then I switched to a record label, which is like a little more narrowed in on just the sony music acts, and it was like so only really paying attention to their music and what they're doing. And then I went as far as to just now tour with one band where it's like I basically only think about them. So it's just kind of like dwindled down, and I feel like I not that I've forgotten about the rest of the industry by any means. I still love country music, but I feel like I don't know as much as I used to know, just like very organically, just through like the grapevine. Now I have to find out, like everybody else, the news. Yeah, it's weird. I also feel like the news has been weird. I have actively tried to throw my phone in the Cumberland, but just like kind of stay out of it. I feel like it does get to me mentally and I just have to like gotta take a breath. It used to be where like it was just Fox News and CNN that would have the very divisive, dividing news, but now it's like leaking into regular news and that's not even news, it's content creators. Creator feel that pops up in between every post on your Instagram page. Yes, it's just overwhelming. And then you know, if you get down one path of algorithm and then all of a sudden, it's like every freaking videos the same. It's like, I cannot handle that, and it I don't know, it feels heavy. I feel like you got to take time away from it. As much as you want to be educated to make sure that you're like making the right decisions to help you your family in the future, whatever you are focused on, you got to take a second because that sh it'll get to you. It does. I spent I spend way too much time on my phone. Do you guys get your little Do you guys get your as you're holding your phone? How many do you guys get your what's you mccaull you or how many hours screen time? Yeah, that's bads. I put limits on mine really so it like locks me out of it. And then it say you've run them or your run whatever app, I do it per app, so like only two hours of Instagram or one hour of Instagram or I don't really do TikTok or something. So then it will say you've run out of time for the day. Do you want to ignore this? Do you want one more minute? Or you know, like, oh you on Instagram in your settings, Oh my gosh, it doesn't. It's not your Instagram setting. It's like your screen time settings, I think, like regularly in your iPhone. So then so then you get a reminder and then you have to consciously push the button that yes, I'm going to ignore this, even though I know that I should get off my phone right now. And then you know, like on Sundays, I don't have any limits because if I'm going to be lazy and just enjoy my Sunday, then I'm gonna be lazy, enjoy my Sunday. All right, I know my hours? Do you know your hours? It's per day? Right, I want to say, I can't say I'm embarrassed. Also, I bet you were well to our credit, all of our credit and people listening you do. Look at your your phone is yours? Everything emails correct? Phone calls, text messaging. It's not just Instagram or Facebook. Right, I work a lot, so you you're always constantly looking up things. I'm trying to make email. I'm always on work calls. Work calls doesn't count as your screen time, don't that. Oh oh, I'm in a good Okay, I forget how you find it? Where is it again? Just go to seven screen time? Yes? Oh wait, mine's forty percent down from last week. It's Monday, Abby, it's Monday, but it's the average. It took me, so last Monday you spent forty percent more time on your phone. I feel like we're getting a little ahead of ourselves in the celebratory you're doing right now. It started Sunday. Okay, I believe in you. Yeah, keep it up. I'm proud of um you go. Maybe it's not as baud Okay, maybe it's early though the last week. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to Oh oh okay, this is what I saw that like really frightened me. All right. Last week's average eight hours and six minutes. Uh, that's about mine. Mine's in the eight hours. Thirty eight hours was considered, so total screen time was fifty six hours for the week. My gosh, that's two days. That's over two days. So I spent over two full days of looking at this thing in my hand. What did you do before this back in the day, let me first moved to Nashville. Yeah, what did you do? What were you looking at? We were just productive? Probably TV? You would look at TV, you'd watch TV. That would be that, that would be that type of form. Right, Yeah, that's so bad. Go to the gym now right now. This week, I'm gonna try to stay on this space. Um, it's four hours in nineteen minutes. But last week I was on vacation, so I was like just sitting around because we're at the beach, so we're just sitting around, dick around, look at that stuff. We're taking pictures, he says. I was on for productivity and finance six hours and twenty nine minutes. What's that? I don't know nothing on my phone that says finance. I can tell you you're a calculator. Oh good. One. Plus, it tells you how many times you picked up your phone too? Where how many do you have? What the pickups? Yeah, I'm only I've had one hundred and twenty three today. How does Abby or Sammy, you want to get up on this? No, most pickups was Sunday one hundred eighty five pickups. One hundred and eighty five pickups Like that hurts my soul. Yeah, you know what, it's time for a change. This is a tree maybe else for the No, that was one day, so that was all right? Okay, well that's depressing. Oh man, all right, Well on that note, okay, let's try to get it under four hours and less than I'm making a contoul. Should we all say after a certain time, we don't pick up our phone. I do that, and I don't pick up my phone until like eleven am. I try to not look at it in the morning. Really yeah eleven am. I mean I will get up. Well, yeah, you work a morning show, Like obviously you can't do that, but like I'll check it when I wake up, just to make sure that, like nothing's an emergency, something happened overnight or something like that. But I just like leave it next to my bed and I get up and I start. I just try and pick up my house in the morning. I read, clean up whatever, do some dishes, like try and be productive. I take a noon workout class, and I try to not look at my phone until after my noon work outcasts. Okay, you're a lot of you're ahead of the game. Yeah, I mean it's effort. It doesn't come naturally, like I have to try it in some days I don't succeed, and sometimes I do, but I do make a conscious effort to do that because I know that it's deteriorating my brain. I agree. I think I think I'm an. I think Abby and I are in a phone we had issues. So yis all right? Well? Love Country?
