The state of shelters in South Africa #16DaysofActivism

View descriptionShare

Shelters in South Africa play a critical role in providing safety, support, and recovery services for survivors of abuse, particularly women and children who are victims of gender-based violence (GBV). As the country continues to grapple with high rates of domestic and sexual violence, the state of shelters remains in jeopardy. We speak to Anisa Moosa from the National Shelters Movement South Africa, Dr. Aninda Sidhana - Psychiatrist & Psychosexual Medicine Specialist and Leenie Gounder - social worker from the Sahara Women’s Shelter in Phoenix, Durban.
