Veteran radio broadcaster and linguistic activist, Mala Lutchmanan has died, aged 64. Lutchmanan was a radio presenter on Lotus FM for over 28 years, where she played an integral role in shaping the stations religious and language programs. She retired as a presenter on the station earlier this year. During the course of her career at Lotus FM, Lutchmanan presented about three thousand programmes. She was an educator, author, doyenne of the Tamil language and culture and recipient of several national and international awards.
