Workers’ Day reminds us of the hard-won history of labour rights, but in today’s reality, many are navigating a different landscape. We are seeing a job market where opportunities are increasingly limited, competition is intense, and many people are forced to accept work that demands more and offers less, sometimes even at the expense of their rights and dignity. On Talk@7, we discuss employment opportunities, how to land a job and workplace ethics. To unpack this, we are joined by Adrian Pillay, a specialist recruitment consultant at Pro Talent, specialising in IT and engineering recruitment. He is a regular speaker and career advisor. Chartered Accountant, governance, risk and compliance specialist, and founder of Boss Babes of South Africa, Kovini Moodley.

Drug busts are becoming increasingly common across many of our communities, yet despite these crackdowns, the impact of narcotics continues to ripple through society. South Africa is facing a deeply challenging socio-economic climate, and with it, growing social pressures that are placing strain on families. To tell us more, we are joined by the former SAPS captain, life coach and founder and director of the Sinika Uthando Foundation, Jennifer Chetty and the organisation’s Chief Operations Officer, Michelle Govinder.
