As we wrap up National Child Protection Week, it is essential to shed light on the realities facing the youth of the country. This important week ensures that the most vulnerable in society are protected from abuse, and encourages us to break the cycle of neglect, violence, and exploitation of children.

On Talk@7, we are joined by Eureka Olivier from Operation Bobbi Bear, an organisation that supports abused children. It provides care, advocacy, and resources to protect and assist vulnerable young victims, aiming to uphold their rights and help restore a safe, nurturing environment for their wellbeing.

We also speak to 29-year-old Bianca Thaver, an office administrator and aspiring Pilates instructor. In 2012, she was removed from her home and placed at St Monica’s Children’s Home, where she lived for three years until her matric year.
