Lizzie Eastham and Sam Rickard present Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look through a different lens.

On this week’s show

“Jennifer Frederick”

Sam Rickard and Lizzy Eastham are joined by guest Jennifer Frederick, calling in from Albany, New York.

Jennifer shares her personal journey of acquiring vision loss around age 43 due to diabetic retinopathy. She opens up about the emotional and practical adjustments required—from giving up driving to navigating everyday independence.

The conversation explores the similarities and differences of living with a visual impairment in Australia versus the United States, highlighting disability advocacy, community support, navigating employment barriers, and maintaining a fulfilling life through life's unexpected transitions.
