Dear Steve and Shirley, My husband and I have been married for 15 years and we have two children. My husband is a functioning alcoholic. He can work a full day without drinking but as soon as he's off the clock he starts drinking. He drinks in private. He doesn't leave his alcohol out where I can see it but I can always smell it in his cup. This started shortly after we got married and I allowed it and never confronted him. I can always tell when he's been drinking by the changes in his behavior and how he treats me and the kids. It's gotten worse recently and I brought it to his attention. I told him that I know exactly what he's up to..........
